I am curious what you think about marketing our gigs though.

That’s a great question and it’s one of my favorite subjects to talk about.

I am a strong advocate of presales when it comes to Fiverr specifically.

I don’t think any kind of marketing is effective enough to drive people to your gig and seal the deal, without them bouncing off to other gigs or losing focus of what it is you do and what the value you bring to the table is.

Fun fact: I almost included the Presales subject to this week’s poll, but deleted it right before I hit publish, as I thought it would be too advanced based on what I see posted on this forum.

So why are you an advocate for presales? Or do you mean for other platforms than fiverr?

it is if you are pre selling before you send them to the gig. With a landing page . A good one.

Sure, that sounds like a great way of handling that.

Depending on your pricing and your ad spending however, it may be too much effort?

But sure there are definitely ways of making sure you control the funnel and not Fiverr.

Because it works for me. A lot better than spending money on ads. I am talking about Fiverr specifically as that’s what @silberma1976 asked about.

You must be good to overcome the gigs that show on your gig. I’m priced higher than most others who do what I do so it’s a problem for me. I often get the ones who have been through the others first.

I am faced with the same issue on my end, as I am priced higher than 90% of my “competition”.

However, I am not pricing according to the marketplace, I am pricing based on value.

It was a conscious decision I made after joining the Pro program, but it was one I was making regardless: I prefer landing bigger projects, working with better clients and getting less sales in is a natural byproduct of that strategy.

You can’t have a large volume of sales with big ticket items. At least not on Fiverr.

Part of the presales subject IS covered in the “optimization” subject, so if you voted for that you are in for a treat. 🙂

I did vote for that one and can hardly wait!

I hope you post reminders with your link to Youtube here. I don’t want to miss it.

I plan on setting up the live event either tonight or tomorrow.

Will post a link to it for sure.

I also got a permanent URL on youtube, it’s right there on the banner if you want to subscribe and get reminders as well.

thank you for voting!

sure, I think that’s totally doable.

I am going to assume it was you on the live chat last time, who said something about how my pacing was distracting and you couldn’t watch? 🙂

Thats probably mostly a practice thing/restructuring from seeing what works and what not, it’s even difficult to follow both lecture/stream and the “chatbox” being the watcher, can’t imagine how it must be as the presenter.

After a dozen streams, you can probably put “my YT stream framework” on the poll list 😉

hahaha! What a wonderful idea, already put on my to-do list. 😉

Well let’s assume you are an entire organization consisted of several departments.

The Presales department understands the technical know-how of a product or a service and helps make sure that the organization delivers exactly what the customer wants/needs.

So while the marketing department is the one bringing in leads, the sales department is the one assessing their quality, nurturing them and closing the deals.

BUT the sales department can’t do so without a competent presales department.

In our case, your presales department is your gig’s description and FAQ section + your ability to respond to prospects and the marketing department is 100% the Fiverr search engine (and Fiverr’s actual marketing department)

Makes total sense. Thanks for explaining that!

I have a landing page/portfolio, but the time, energy and money to even get people to that and then to hop over to Fiverr is immense. That 20% we give Fiverr is worth what they do to bring in buyers to the platform. To formalize something as your own business and do all the marketing and all that Fiverr does is a huge undertaking.

I love fiverr! I’m aware of what it would take to get services like this site gives me.

No need for you to stay out of it, we can definitely have a discussion even if you disagree with something I wrote above.

I never said I have all the answers nor do I claim that there’s only one thing we can do to better ourselves.

I am just sharing what I know that has worked for me personally and I have worked on my stuff enough to know why certain things worked and how my results can get replicated.

Very much looking forward to this. And, yes, already subscribed.

I voted for customer service framework … which I am now mindful of because I currently have a client who is … giving the the opportunity to practice customer service with compassion and civility …

Customer Service Framework sounds interesting. And it’s so important. All of this is such a great resource. Frank has spent a lot of time thinking about the nuts and bolts of every aspect of selling on fiverr.

I edited the original post, as I need to change the date for the live stream.

I will go live on Sunday, not Friday as there was something in my calendar booked in advance I missed.

This will give me more time to prepare, so poll will close on Friday night!

I voted for customer service framework …

Once again, this is my favorite subject, wink-wink! I truly feel that it’s something everyone can benefit from.

but why choose something Fiverr specific when you could have broader subjects that you could apply to your freelance career everywhere?

I agree with you 100%.

I am testing waters and conducting my own research as it will help me shape future free YT lectures and evolve my private mentoring group.

I think I need to get the Fiverr-related topics out of the way as soon as possible so that we can start focusing on the good stuff. But at the same time, it seems like the vast majority of forum members are looking for a quick fix they can apply and cannot yet accept broader concepts and mindset issues.

We’ll get there.

OK poll is officially closed, I will prepare the live event and link to it here.

Now I need to finalize the outline of my lecture and prepare some slides even. 😉
