joyh97
So, I just had this conversation, and I was wondering how you guys approach this kind of thing? I personally try to still be professional and polite but it’s REALLY inappropriate and a little uncomfortable. Do you just ignore it and report? Not sure what the best practice is for this kind of thing
visualstudios
Thankfully we don’t get that kind of scam. We rarely get scams at all, tbh.

To be honest I don’t get many scams anymore either, although I know they can be more frequent for newer users, but this one was just really brazen haha. So I wasn’t really sure how to react, because for some reason Fiverr didn’t just auto-flag it

We’ve gotten the odd upwork scam though. Not in a long time, thankfully.

There’s someone going around the site looking for young women who are willing to send pics.Is the person’s account still live? Those messages look like they were sent several hours ago.

joyh97
Also to clarify I actually went to their site to see if it even existed (it does) and they are definitely lying about blurring faces too which makes the whole thing feel very disgusting if that’s what they’re promising the girls…

Maybe that message is a template he sends to any woman on this site that he finds attractive. Can you imagine how creepy a person has to be to spend time composing a message like that to send to women trying to work? 😬
danieladgr
I act as professional as possible and then block and report. Like two months ago, someone started a conversation with me and went straight to say that he wanted to be in a relationship with me because he was looking for a wife  I told him that this wasn’t a dating site and proceeded to report and block him. When I saw his profile he even had his phone number in his description asking for women to contact him.The last message I got from him was: “Wait, I do need a translation”. But it was too late for both of us 😌

thatwordchick
It’s terrible - and notice all the women chiming in! I’ve dealt with it myself, several times, since starting on Fiverr. It’s also the reason that I no longer take ■■■■■ “interviews” for freelance jobs on other platforms: after two instances of the call opening up to a live feed of some guy’s genitalia, I decided I wasn’t even willing to chance it anymore. Here’s my advice: push back. Don’t be polite. They’re counting on that, they’re counting on us waffling and coming back to the group with a “was I too harsh?” “Isn’t this a little weird, guys?” etc. A simple “This is incredibly inappropriate - I have taken a screenshot of this conversation and I’m reporting you to Fiverr for ■■■■■■ harassment.” paired with a block will suffice. Call them out, don’t engage further, block them, and report them immediately. They don’t deserve your politeness - they deserve to be called out and shut down. It’s H.A.R.A.S.S.M.E.N.T. Period. No question about it. Imagine if you went into an in-person job interview and your interviewer started talking about you selling him nude photos instead of a job. You’d have solid grounds for a lawsuit. This is unacceptable, it’s gross, and you have a right to put your foot down hard enough to crack the earth.
