Hello all. I’ve been working on optimizing my gig on-page, but I’m not sure how good my video is.

Would you please rate my short marketing video on a scale of 1-10 and give your top suggestion for improving it?

I wonder why you couldn’t see my video? I was able to open the page in another browser not signed in.

Re response time. I forgot to sign out the other night and found a message early in the morning. I responded - How long does that take to correct?

That makes text really, really important

Yes, text is important. However, a LOT of text can be distracting. The text and video must NOT be competing for attention. Otherwise it’s too much information all at once which causes a form of minor sensory overload.

It’s much like a speaker using a slideshow. People cannot read a lot of text and listen to a speaker, and still retain the information, when the two don’t mesh.

Thanks for commenting imagination7413

I disagree. I’ve had huge engagement with text rich videos - thousands to hundreds of thousands of views each. I find in-video animated text much nicer than say captioning etc.

Yes, but what was in the background of those videos? Not much action, I’d wager.

It really varied the background images.

background images

Images? Not videos?

Still images?

I’ve used still images and video snippets as well character animations in my videos with lots and lots of value adding text.

@davidhaldorsen The transition used is meaningless, the texts are arranged out of proportion, you can only use an animated sidebar for each scene.
You should work on the presentation because the client must be attracted to it.

although I think that text variation and varied positioning ads to the novelty value of the video increasing engagement - if the text content is high-value-creating, for the viewer.

@davidhaldorsen

You can look at my profile, I have a gig where I use texts.

Rich visuals and high-value text are so critical!
