I've been on Fiverr for SEVEN years!

As a buyer of 300+ gigs and now as a seller with Fiverr PRO-- and I love this community.

Greetings from Tel Aviv, where I got the opportunity to spend the day at Fiverr HQ-- super cool place and people. I’ve never been to Israel before.

I’m from Los Angeles, California and I was an early Yahoo! employee working on analytics and ads. I teach courses on Fiverr Learn and am here to help you guys get more gigs, get more skills, and however I can help.

I’d love to hear what topics you’d like to learn and what challenges you have.

Wow it’s an amazing felling for you & while spending 7 years. It’s great.
In my 3 months of fiverr I completed 23 orders as a web developer and it’s amazing experience of mine. Talk & meet people, share feeling with different countries different reasons. I think it’s my life best time spending with them with great feedback.
Unfortunately most of them are from USA.

Wow-- 23 orders in 3 months already. Great job, my man.

Most of our clients are in the US, too-- they pay more!

Hey Dennis. I’m curious; is this something you are asking to answer the questions on the Forum or are you doing market research for new courses to offer?

Both-- I want to understand what the community wants. The more I listen, the more successful I am, as silly as that may sound.

Plumbing and GCT, as you’ll learn, are timeless.

Plumbing would be great 😉

Are you asking about any topics, though, or things you have a course on like FB ads?

If any topic, from reading the forum, I think many people might be interested in courses similar to the new-ish “general” Fiverr seller course, follow-ups that go deeper into things like how to respond to Buyer Requests, how to deal with “difficult” customers, unreasonable requests, buyers asking for more work than they paid for, etc.

Courses that deal with how to “set up your bookkeeping” might be popular too if they were specifically tailored to the different countries sellers come from, there’s a lot of insecurity among sellers regarding when they need to declare their income, whether they declare what ends up in their bank account or what they earn and the platform and currency conversion fees as costs, etc.

If you could get qualified people do such courses, I think that might be really appreciated.

If you’re asking more about courses you might offer yourself, perhaps a course about how to best set up a facebook page for one’s Fiverr business and how to leverage FB for that, as in, not for one’s clients but for one’s own Fiverr business, how to advertise it without being spammy, with a “Fiverr official stance” on how to deal with Fiverr customers who might find and contact you there (many sellers here are very unsure, even afraid, about how to deal with these things - you’re not supposed to have any off-platform contact, generally, but simply not replying to customers who manage to find you off-platform would be rude too, stuff like that), etc.

Personally, well, I offer translation gigs here, and there aren’t any courses about that topic at all yet, so if there were some that didn’t only brush the surface (I’m translating since many years already, after all) and would deal with some things that specifically pertain to Fiverr, too, I’d most probably take such a course, or all, depending.

I’ve taken some courses that were not directly related to what I do but were useful, though, and some courses had bits tailored to Fiverr, which is a definitive bonus, which I’d like to see more of.

For the vast, vast majority, the issue they have is getting sales.

However, this same majority will not invest in a course to learn how to get sales, nor will they invest any time.

I would strongly suggest that Learn courses would target more experienced sellers, those who have all the basics and know what they are doing but could do with some additional help in some areas, like was suggested by @miiila above.

Would love to hear more about the HQ and what life at early Yahoo! must have been like. I would love to learn how to Market Gigs effectively so they get results and not just crowd the marketplace. Or, even how to evaluate the marketplace and identify how to best price and position a Gig as time goes on. I have been here five years, and it is very different from when everything was just $5.

Yes, accounting and bookkeeping with software like Quickbooks would be vital I think to anyone selling here

Hi Silberma1976-- your year in your name would imply that we are within 2 years of each other. I’m 1974.

To hear more about the early days of Yahoo, I go in-depth here with what life was like:

Yes, most new folks need sales-- and the solution is to highlight customer success in a repeatable template the prospective customers believe applies to them. More than just showcasing the portfolio, but teaching, too.

Yes-- we’re mapping out these topics on client management. You already know that setting expectations is so key to success, perhaps even more important than your skill level and effort.

And there are “nightmare clients” that expect the world for a few dollars, so we have to structure our gig such that we don’t accidentally let these folks in.

Though I don’t work at Fiverr and can’t speak authoritatively on the decisions they are making on the platform, I can say that as an instructor, my goal is to help as many sellers succeed as possible. Hence, super affordable courses that are step-by-step to help us all build our businesses, in aspects well beyond pure digital marketing skills.

While many may know me as a Facebook ads guy, the bulk of what I know is not about Facebook, but about scaling up teams, dealing with clients, pricing our projects, and other operational bits.
