Buyer complaining about completed order, using work

I had a buyer purchase a resume editing gig with 1 revision but I fulfilled their additional revision requests (7 total) and they marked the order as complete.
They are now claiming the cover letter and work I did sucks and saying if I don’t fix it they’ll involve the support team.
However, the buyer is already using the cover letter I provided on another online profile.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice for this? What options do I have?

Hi! Sorry you’re having to deal with this, there are a few lousy buyers out there who try and game the system.

The first thing I would advise is not to do any further work for them. In fact, I wouldn’t even engage with them. I would beat the buyer to it, and report them to Customer Support yourself. CS will be familiar with the TOS, but you can quote the following to them, taken directly from the TOS…

“Buyers who threaten to leave a damaging review to gain more services from the Seller not related to the agreed requirements.”

Show Support all of the evidence that you have that makes you think the buyer will try to push for a refund (it sounds like that’s what they’re planning). You’ve delivered the work, the buyer has marked the order as complete (have they reviewed you?) and share the link, showing the buyer using your work. It might help you out if the buyer decides to do anything malicious.

Other forum members have experienced similar and will no doubt be able to give you advice as well, but that’s what I’d suggest.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

First, take a screenshot of the work you have produced on your buyers profile page. Next contact CS, explain that your buyer was happy, was provided with revisions, and is using the work (as proved by your screenshot). Then state that under no circumstances do you agree for CS to cancel this order. Neither will you be working anymore on this order, as you have over-delivered exactly what you say you will in your gig.

If it was me, I would then respond to your buyer by saying that you are sorry that they seem to be unhappy, however, you have already contacted CS and bought it to their attention that the work you delivered has already been used by them online. In this case and as per Fiverr TOS, you are unable to offer a refund or further revisions.

Then keep your fingers crossed and hope that there is a meteor somewhere with your buyers name on it. 😉

That’s what I would’ve also wrote, so I second this. However I would’ve add at the end:

“Unable to offer a refund or further free revisions but you can send him a custom offer for an extra revision for X amount”

Sometimes fiverr taking wrong “I wouldn’t do any revisions anymore and pressuring sellers to do more work or cancelling orders but if you’ll state that you are to do revisions for extra charge that will be fine with them.
