A person asked me to build something related to my gig yet didn’t use the gig to do it. I have done what they have requested, using his personal messages, yet how do i get payment? I can’t ask them to send me payment to my bank account. Should they start a gig and then i give him what he wants? Please help

Unfortunately, you only get paid if you complete an actual order that was placed by a buyer. You do not get paid for offering free work (i.e., working on something when you don’t even have an order to begin with).

The ONLY way to ensure that you get paid is by starting to work/deliver ONLY after you receive an actual order from your buyer. Fiverr doesn’t guarantee you payment if you decide to work for “free” before even receiving an order. Unfortunately, that’s on you.

You should have read Fiverr’s ToS. All the do’s and don’ts of the platform are mentioned there. I URGE you to thoroughly go through and understand Fiverr’s Terms of Service ASAP as not doing so can get your account banned, and I’d hate to see that happen to you.

You can’t even ask the person for payment (by creating a gig and asking the buyer to place an order/send a custom offer) as I am afraid it’s very unlikely that someone in their right mind is going to pay after having gotten away scot-free with free work (although it’s unethical)!

P.S: All this is assuming you already delivered what the buyer requested (via messages).

If you didn’t send them the work, you can either ask them to purchase the gig or create a custom offer for what you’ve done. You could send a watermarked image of what you’ve done if necessary but don’t send any 3d files or anything without a watermark before they create an order.
