Please if a buyer sends a file which I suspect to be malicious. Please how can I protect myself and scan the file without downloading it on my device.

I suggest you tell the buyer you never open anything when you don’t know what’s in it. And suggest they tell you what’s in the file.

If they disappear after that, you can report and block them on the basis that the file was suspicious.

With Virus Total.

Right-click with your mouse on the file, copy the file address, and then paste it into Virus Total (choose the URL option).

Usually I check every buyer’s profile to know if they have been buying or just a random, usual phishing scammer.

I’d be careful, though. Some people might use Fiverr exclusively to collude. And in that case, they’d give each other great reviews.

I’ll also be careful.

I would test it on a test virtual machine or a pc I will never use. If it’s a virus it won’t harm me, because I have no data on it. If it’s a scam, I will flag the buyer.
