Zip file delivery

Recommended Posts

Yes, you can, and I do. If I only need to deliver a couple small files, though, I would avoid it. If the buyer doesn’t understand how zip files work you’re going to cause a big headache.

I assume it’s for the gig where the seller may be delivering 20 images. For more than maybe 5 files zips or rar may be most useful. Though if the seller wants to allow the buyer to put something in the live preview it’s probably also a good idea to send one file not in a zip (eg. image/video etc.).

In this case, he can always tell the buyer on the delivery message to contact him in case he/she is unble to open the zip so to send the files, individually, through the order chat as attachment. I always tell my buyers that and up to now, only one asked me for it as he didn’t know how to use the rar.

What is the best delivery method without using rar because buyer don’t know about rar files so are there any methods to deliver zip files with user friendly without technical knowledge and support for most of the devices without special installing ???

@bigapple_design You can get a free account at dropbox. Then give him a link to the file.

But we need to compress the files! How ever we need to compress files even we use dropbox

You need to tell your buyer to install WINrar on their computer.

Send them this message:

How to handle ZIP files

WinRAR provides the complete support for ZIP files, so you may both create and unpack them. If you installed WinRAR on your computer and downloaded ZIP file from Internet, you may double click on ZIP file icon to open it in WinRAR, select all files, press “Extract To” button, enter a destination path and press “OK”. Another way is to click on the ZIP file in Explorer using the right mouse button.

If you send them zip files those are compressed files and they should be able to know how to unzip them. All they have to do is double click the file with the right mouse button.
