martygarnica
I wanted a simple phone application, and I ordered a $5 job that had ‘good’ reviews. I later get a message that the project cant be done for $5 and I need to cancel. But YOU posted the work you would do for the price. Is it my responsibility to cancel when I have placed an order when the freelancer has an issue with the dollar amount much the project was paid for?Mod Note: Screenshot removed. humanissocial
It’s hard to say without knowing the scope of your order. Maybe something (scope or resources required) you wanted wasn’t achievable for the price. We don’t know because we don’t have that information. The thing with scope is that a buyer can have a different idea of what it entails than a seller. In any case I would cancel, myself. Nothing good comes from continuing an order for the sake of it, even though the seller says no.
sefiuu
I think that seller is violating Fiverr TOS .or is ‘misleading people’ not violating any of the TOS?

However, this will only result in your order cancelling automatically or being cancelled by Fiverr CS. In short, you can not force your seller to deliver what you want.As it is, your seller should advise people to contact them prior to placing an order. However, most people would also not consider $5 a realistic price to pay to have any kind of app created.
uk1000
The seller shouldn’t have priced his gig at $5 if he never creates a phone app for $5. It’s false advertising, and the seller also doesn’t state on the gig that buyers need to contact him first. He should put a message to contact first in the gig description and also set the price higher I think. The terms of service says:gigs may be removed for:Spam, nonsense, or violent or deceptive GigsGigs misleading to Buyers or othersI agree the buyer could contact CS. CS may ask the seller to set the price to a price that they will actually allow the buyer to buy their gig at or maybe ask them to also put a relavent message in the gig description.
j6nyc6
Why would they even have a $5 gig when they do not plan on charging that much. I noticed they have an option to get a quote which is fine, but maybe they should price their gig at a minimum first (ex: $100) with additional add-ons for more intricate projects

And feel all superior about it. Maybe some buyers decide to pay more.

They should at very least charge $5 for a full consultation so they can discuss the project in detail and come up with a reasonable price range. They basically have a $5 gig that doesn’t offer anything but a cancellation if a buyer orders without contacting them first.
misscrystal
Here is what their gig offers for $5:Want an ios/android app? No issue. I am here at your service. I will make any ios/android app for you or do your assignments or projects.I will make, debug, test, analyze your code. It will be written in a manner that can be easily understood. Naming convention will be followed throughout the end. You will surely get what you need.I see a violation there too where they will do your assignments.

However, some sellers do not realize this… at least not until they have a bad experience.I see a violation there too where they will do your assignments.True. Not only is the gig/description misleading but it also offers to do assignments. 🥴@martygarnica BTW, since it is against the forum’s rules to reveal the usernames of other users, I’d suggest that you edit out the seller’s username from your original post. Thanks!
mariashtelle1
We can’t really advice you because we haven’t seen what was in his gig description in a 5$ offer and what did you ask in your requirements. It seems quite naive to hope to get an app designed for 5$ but you also might have misjudged what you can get in a 5$ design and asked for much more. Sellers get that a lot with clients expecting to get the universe and pay only 5$.However you can not keep the order going. You both will have to cancel it and it will be a great idea in the future to contact sellers prior to our hay their gig if you want to avoid situations like this.
