Gig needs modifying but I have NO IDEA what needs to be modified

Recommended Posts

Hey y’all. So, this morning I woke up to an email saying my gig was removed. Very frustrating because I don’t even know why. It was denied, but more so recently moved to the “requires modification” tab. When I click on that it brings up my gig and under status it says “video denied” and come ups with another message that reads…

“We do not allow writing and posting of paid-for reviews. It is misleading and illegal in certain jurisdictions. Please modify your Gig components accordingly and remove any mention of this as you may not offer this service.”

I have NO IDEA what that really means because I’ve had the same gig up for about a month now with all the same videos and samples. I never ask for reviews from any clients and I never even mention the word “review” in my sample video. I contacted customer support right when I saw the email this morning at 7:00am and its been over five hours and the only thing I got from them was “I am sending your request to our editorial team for review” and never heard back from the guy. It is HIGHLY frustrating.

If anyone can help me at all I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

What was the title of the gig that they had a problem with / what was the gig for?

When I go to “edit gig” there is a message in the overview tab and the tab itself has a little exclamation mark next to the word “overview.” None of the other tabs have exclamation marks. Does that mean that the overview section is the only area that needs modifying?

Probably. Your “Superb” voice over gig says you’ll record voice overs for “…Brand & Product Reviews” so maybe the issue was something like that or maybe they flagged the wrong gig. Maybe it was just the text “reviews” that they had a problem with.

Also they might also have a problem if your gig titles are too similar, eg. if it isn’t obvious what the difference between 2 services are. eg. a “superb voice over” gig and an “immaculate voice over” gig.

Ah man, I didn’t even think of that. I am going to remove the word “review” right now. Thanks so much!

But then why would it also say “video denied” under the gig?

I don’t know. If they haven’t specified what is wrong with the video you could wait till they reply to your support request. It might just be their only issue was the word “reviews” or “product reviews” in the gig description. But it’s probably safest to wait to see what they say so you can make the modifications they require (if any more than removal of those words from the description).
