Client asks for source file after completed ordee

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, recently I’ve made my first sale on Fiverr and the client was great to work with. Order was marked completed, we both left reviews for each other and then he/she asks me for the source file. What should I do and how do I deal with this situation? Do note I did a hand drawn illustration, and I delivered him a png. What source file do I give him? Should I even give it to him?

Simply tell your buyer that you do not use any kind of software application to create your illustrations. Because of this, you don’t say you provide source files in your gig, as there is no way to deliver your original physical drawing.

Make sure to stress that you do not say you offer source files in your gig, and that if your buyer needs these, they should contact sellers in advance of ordering in future. (Just put it a little more politely.)

I see you have an extra for a source file. If the order is not yet completed you can send them an offer for the source file extra on the order page. No need to explain or send a message aside from:

“I have sent the offer for that on the order page.” Then send them the link to the order page.

If someone has the nerve to ask for something extra for free, then you need to have the nerve to request payment for it.

If there is no source file as Cyrexrex said you can simply tell them that.

When we export png format from illustrator it give us normal size but if you sent pdf or ai format then client will be able to export high resolution and even print it if they want to.

Generally speaking, this means a full file collect of the InDesign file , fonts, any placed … Photoshop files ) is NOT how you earn more work from that client later on. … and provide a link to the site where the client can purchase the fonts if they so choose. … I can still bring it back to “if you got paid, hand over the files if asked .” …
