What will happen if different freelancer access their ID under same IP?

Recommended Posts

I think its very logical that, Two or more freelancers can stay in a home like, Brother,Sister, Husband or Wife etc. and use the same IP for their access ID.
But someone told me that it is forbidden in Fiverr. I am so worried, is their any rule like that about same IP access with different ID ?

Of course family members can have their own accounts on the same IP as long as you ask customer support first. And they cannot sell the same things, or buy from each other’s accounts.

IDK. While theoretically there are reasons why two or more users cold be using the same physical IP, I really don’t think CS would or should buy this from sellers.

It is simply not practical to work or administer two accounts on the same physical device. In the very least, a seller needs their own workstation before they think about going into freelancing. If two people living in the same house want to sell on Fiverr, there is also no reason why they can’t just create one account to list both of their services.

Of course, I do think that Fiverr needs to relax IP rules or at least clarify them given the popularity of places like co-working spaces. However, if I was Fiverr and someone asked if their brother, sister, cousin, mum, dog, gran, etc can open an account on the same PC, I’d probably this think “yeah, right.”

It is logical in some respects, but this is the classic excuse given by people who try to operate multiple accounts for fraudulent reasons. Consider using just one account which you use to publish gigs on behalf of whomever you share your home with. This way, you will avoid any potential problems further down the line.

Naturally they should have their own computers and desks unless one is doing it part time.

If they have only one account for both of them then you have to mix in the payments for both accounts and if they are just roomates or brother and sister or not married they would want separate payment accounts.

I doubt if it’s that uncommon. You can always wonder if it really is their wife’s account, or their daughter’s account, but it might actually be, who knows. There is no way to tell unless you visit their home, and peak in through the windows and spy on them, as far as I know.

edit: This is what CS said (from another thread):

Hi Everyone, Here is the Official reply of CS. In certain circumstances, it is acceptable to have more than one account at your location, for example, an account for each family member. However, the accounts must abide by our Terms of Service. The most important rules to take note of in this situation are: The accounts may not sell similar services The accounts may not purchase from one another The accounts may not share a withdrawal provider (Paypal/Payoneer) I hope this information helps…

The accounts may not sell similar services

The accounts may not purchase from one another

The accounts may not share a withdrawal provider (Paypal/Payoneer)

The post with the full message from CS about 2 users with the same IP is here (where an account was suspended by mistake):

@djgodknows Please see the conversation attached, between me and the customer support [image] And as they stated clearly it actually do matters if “both of your shops sell the exact same items”
