Unacceptable UI by fiverr

I’m writing a 2500 character description, and when done, I’m getting a message:

“The description contains illegal characters”.

Please give your UI people a good slap, fiverr. This is an unacceptable UI, and it’s one of the main UIs in fiverr.

The exact same text works when copied to chat, so basically I’m doing a mostly empty custom order, and then filling in using chat.

Both the error message not indicating what to change and the general support for text is unacceptable.

It looks like idfy is the word it doesn’t like.

What is idfy an abbreviation for? Is there any other way to write it?

Is there a more general way to describe what you want, or request they contact you directly so you can explain it?

This has nothing to do with the UI. It’s more of a boundary set by Fiverr. I honestly don’t think it’s such a big deal, but if that API is so important to you than I understand your frustration.

No the idfy word has nothing to do with this issue. That’s part of the built-in spell correction facility in the browser. Fiverr.

As you can see in the screenshot, if this was true, I would not be able to write Fiverr.

Yes I did. Though I’m not interesting in debugging fiverr’s buggy software so I’m from now on not using their quotation UI, but the chat.

I’m posting here to make fiverr aware of the issue, and as a warning to other fiverr users. They also do not have a feedback link in their UI, nor in help, not in the site overview at the bottom of their site, so the only option is to post publicly.

In the screenshot I see that the character counter shows “2028/2500”, it’s possible that the illegal character is not in the part of sentence that is displayed.

Yes it’s somewhere among the 2028 preceding characters. And I’m expected to go through every character to find it. That’s not going to happen.

Using the site requires patience and perseverance. It weeds out the impatient in this way.

I’m not sure if URLs are allowed in buyer requests. Have you tried with “idfy. no” instead?
