Can you pause a gig while you are still working at orders from that same gig?

I was just wondering about this. I have got all the work that I can handle for now and I do not need/ cannot take anymore. Also I would like to take a break over the weekend.

Can I pause a gig and still work on orders that came out of that gig?

Oh! Thank you so much. That is such a relief. I wish I had known this sooner. By now you must have noticed from the way I have been complaining in other parts of this forum that I got way too many orders for my articles!
