Thank you for this post, it has been very insightful.

This is something that I have struggled with for some time, as I’ve always been interested in various aspects of visual communication, and have spent a lot of time improving on those various skills, whether it be graphic design, animation or film. As such, several people and prospective employers were not sure what to make of my skillsets, as they would usually look for something very specific and in their mind, I must be overqualified or under-specialised in what they require.

The old addage ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ has been something that I always related with because of this and it has been a stigma to try and get away from. However, as I have matured as a creative and after my time spent as an educator, I can certainly attest to the fact that seemingly insignificant interests or skill may just be the thing that sets you apart from the proverbial crowd.

After reading your post I will definitely revise my approach to the Fiverr experience to reflect a broader range of interests and skills.

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your experience and knowledge gained.

@kraft_creation omg you’re my personality doppelganger 😂 your jack of all trades hit hard. You know I’ve gone through the same ordeal but this has been the biggest learning curve where I’ve learnt that a jack can is what’s needed in this over connected world today.

I used the same value preposition for my masters essay as well. Where I started about trying to be a Jack of all trades and ended the essay with, “this jack may just become a master of one” and ended up getting accepted 😃

So suffice it to say, alot of people out there know the value of a jack, we just need to display it to them in a way they can understand.

Best of luck buddy. And if you need any help do let me know.

The struggle is real @iconsolutions. Happy to hear that I am not the only one that faces the same issues.

I think you are spot on with your breakdown of the value of a ‘Jack’ in the modern digital era, and had a little giggle by myself when you said “this jack may just become a master of one” as it’s something I’ve always joked about in a professional capacity. The only problem then is to decide on which ‘One’ to master.

I certainly look forward to expanding my insights on providing the services a ‘Jack’ can provide and appreciate seeing the encouragement from an established member such as yourself and the rest of the community.
