Fiverr is not “full of scammers” just because your account was disabled. You created a near identical copy of a popular existing logo, and your client called you out for it. Fiverr assessed your situation, made a choice, and felt that your copyright violation was serious enough to require that your account be disabled. That choice does not make them scammers. They took the time – three times – to personally assess the situation. This is their website, and they chose what was best for their brand.

What’s done is done. Good luck as you continue to build your business elsewhere. I truly hope you learn from this experience, and work hard not to repeat it a second time.

Fiverr’s CS should have handled this situation better.

That being said, it is sad to think that now you look at Fiverr as a sh*tty platform.

Yes, some sellers are scammers, the CS is not always correct, there are plenty of

things that happen here that is quite frustrating to say the least, but

I would like to believe that all of your experience here was not 100% negative, and if

you do indeed have the talent and skills you’ll do fine outside Fiverr.

Thanks.I know people are real here feel my situation.Even i explained everything to them.No problem.I can see few sellers in graphic design using my own portfolio to show to new buyers.Some using very generic icons to design logo.Fiverr don’t see those things.And here i am telling everyone here with my honesty they are not believing me.Thanks for your support.Good luck

I did. Many courses. In fact, I hold a four-year college degree in graphic design, and I have been doing it professionally for the past 17 years – with clients ranging from celebrity musicians to political candidates for government elections. And not once, in all those years and courses have I been in a situation such as your noted experience.

It is unwise to make assumptions of other people just so that you can seem “right”. As a graphic artist, you are responsible for delivering original work to your clients. The Lavalife logo is an extremely unique logo. I find it hard to believe that such an iconic logo could be so “accidentally” copied.

Maybe the stars did align, and you had a one-in-a-million, coincidental, accidental similar logo design. You still need to do your research, be aware of what’s out there, and understand that you cannot deliver work that “copies” that of existing popular brands. You just can’t do that.

Source files to not make you innocent in this matter. Source files show the functional structure/layers of your design work, they do not prove that your design idea wasn’t copied or inspired by something else. Please stop assuming that source files will invalidate your wrong, and vindicate your actions. That’s not how source files work.

I disagree. And it would appear that I understand this whole thing far better than you do. I stepped in to negate your insults of Fiverr, but I am not going to continue arguing your innocence. Fiverr disabled your account. I think that says it all right there.

Again, take this experience as a lesson, and make sure you ensure that your work is 100% unique and original in the future – wherever you continue to work.

well you have lot of time to waste.I am living in india.I am not big fan of dating online.I did not even checked lava life like logo before.Do you really think i copied the logo ?.Ok you have 17 years of experience.Great job.Even i designed thousands of logos online and for local business.World is spreading it’s hard to catch all the information.I did my research with reverse images not so accurate and many different ways.It was $10 fiverr also have to understand it.You will get the price you pay.You felt my “scammers” words that hit you.All real people here understand my situation.Sources file is last proof just to show those dumbs that is was just coincident.Because even explaining everything they was not understanding.Not waste my time to showing your ability in graphic design field.

Read the topic carefully.Buyer can revise if he knew logo is similar.After logo completion he don’t have authority to blame me.Blind review is very funny.i don’t believe in stars but i do believe world is bad out there and bad people find there way to get back money and scammers and scammers make a team together.

I used fonts to make logo.i was not aware of lava life brand.Element in the logo can be matched.I provided me 3 versions.Buyer from the start was unresponsive and did not discussed but i remember he wanted simple logo.So simple icon means minimal logo as possible.idea came to my mind.Even if you have time to match the curves of “ll” you can see it’s not pure lavalife copy.it’s a similar case.

Sadly, Fiverr and the gig economy overall implements a kind of “it’s our way or the highway” approach to matters like this. Likely, they take the view that they do not have time to look into the finer details of cases like yours, And, of course, there are always hundreds of other sellers who can take your place to bring home the bacon.

What you might want to do now, is set up new accounts on new platforms using your Fiverr username to try and grab some of your past regulars. You could also consider starting a blog on Medium, which discusses accidental copyright violations in the freelance graphic design world.

You could also start pitching your services to specific groups online. Blockchain and cryptocurrency startups are constantly looking for web designers and graphic designers, yet few freelancers attempt top tap this market directly. From personal experience, doing so can be profitable. 😉

If you got the idea from that site, datafont, then maybe other logo designers use that too to find ways to put logos together. I believe you that you didn’t copy that logo. But since it is the exact same logo that is already in use, fiverr had no choice but to ban your account. They can’t allow you to stay here after that.
