It is interesting that you mention “not” to show your face if it isn’t Gig related in some way. I kind of agree on this, but 90% of tip type tutorials or posts have people recommending it to seem more personal…

your gig cover is the same as a store showcase. How do you think you will sell your products? By showing your products or using part of this to show you?

Being more personal doesn’t mean to show yourself as advertising.

If people want to be their own gig “models”, they should start by a good photo (nice and professional clothes, nice lighting, nice focus, nice composition). In other words, it must look professional. Most of self photos used on gigs I see are strange and push clients away.

Example: I saw sweat guys, with something which looks like a pijama with a very low quality and dark photo. It was a little creepy to stare that gig. I understand that there are thousands of humble sellers that can’t afford to buy a new cloth for a good photo, so this is the reason a suggest to not do this. You should always be proud of yourself, but if you want to sell, you first need to be professional.

One more important point. If you will use you/your face in your gig cover, make sure to not be the main element of this, if you gig is not related with your physical characteristics.

You may have a good appeal, like using your own pets like some people do, but it’s difficult to work. So if you want something more guaranteed, do not use you as your cover.

Thank you for this extremely helpful post. I think that the Gig Cover is something that takes practice to get right to really increase your chances of being seen in a sea of services offered to a prospective buyer. It is also important to keep crisp, to-the-point details in your gig descriptions which highlight the services which you will perform. Upsell to customers who are asking for work OUTSIDE of the scope of your Gig who inbox you. Be polite but describe to them why you must charge more and IMPORTANTLY what you are charging more for!

My biggest downfall so far is being too broad with my Gigs, I need to refine them to tasks which I can complete extremely fast and repetitiously to build my brand on Fiverr.

Thanks again for the very informative post. I’m going to read the ToS, again, now!

Hello Dear Thanks for your Motivational Blog. I hope i can success in fiverr.

Just a suggestion. Dont call “DEAR” someone you don’t know, it’s strange. If you want to become a good seller, start by adapting your culture to other people, and not making other to adapt yours.
