It was really going well. But sudden increase of service fee ruining fiverr. No buyer activity at all means no orders. So buyer’s are moving to big marketplaces. Hope you guys fix this ASAP.

Please don’t ruin Fiverr. The 5$ marketplace.

This is your personal opinion, and not at all true. Fiverr is still here, and Fiverr still appears to be going strong, despite the +$1 rise in fee (only for orders below $40). Fiverr may be trying to encourage higher purchase prices. From what I can see, it appears to be working.

No buyer activity at all means no orders. So buyer’s are moving to big marketplaces.

Show me proof to support this claim. Otherwise, it’s just another random opinion.

Another random opinion. What evidence do you have that thousands of sellers are complaining about the +$1 rise in fee? Surely $1 isn’t breaking the sky, and causing it to crash so horribly and dramatically to the ground.

[looks up] … Yep. The sky is still where it belongs.

Please check the inbox of support@fiverr.com.

I have no access to messages inside the Fiverr support inbox. Neither do you.

Hi,
I’m aware that a good number of people are not happy with the fee increase (I myself wasn’t all that thrilled, especially when I heard the same fee applies to the tips!), but I will
disagree with the part where there are no more buyers.
Thankfully I’m still getting orders even after the fee increase,so this makes me believe
that as long as you offer good services, people will be more than willing to pay that extra dollar because it’s worth it 🙂

That’s because I was away on vacation for a whole week 🍸

Will it help if I told you that currently I am working on 2 gigs?? 🙂

From what I have seen on the forum and elsewhere, there are 2 groups of people who are most vocal and upset about the increase in fees.
The $5 sellers
The $5 buyers

Personally, I have no real interest in $5 buyers and I suggest that others move away from them as soon as possible.

$5 buyers and sellers are the groups that in general, give least earnings and least value for Fiverr. The cost of attracting a $5 buyer to come to the platform is roughly the same as a $50 or $500 buyer. I have said it before, between the 20% and the $2 service fee - $3 in total - it just takes a small issue with the order to use up that $3 on Customer support wages. This is likely why the service fees have happened and I very much doubt they are going anywhere.

With that in mind, it is up to sellers to look at what to do from here. As your Facebook group has suggested, going to other platforms is an option but there are lots of other options to consider.

I used to earn about $0.50/hour when I was 11 (picking fruit) - should I go back to that?

I grew up, so has Fiverr.

And anyway, if Fiverr was never called Fiverr but was called “GreatValueGigs.com” - would you think the price increase was ok?

The name is just a name, coke has nothing to do with cocaine any more but kept its name.

Oh come on, there’s gotta be something crack-equvilant in there, right?

But in all reality, that’s a good point.

Never forget where you came from

More likely than not it will be reflected in the name for decades to come. That doesn’t mean they can’t move on to bigger and other things.

I dont understand what is meaning of your this statement of where you came from how this matter

In the begining of Fiverr was just a 5$ marketplace. That’s how it grows. Increasing fee doesn’t make any sense. When there’s several big marketplaces out there trying to decrease the fee for seller and buyer. So as a result, buyers & sellers moving to other marketplaces. xx

All I see from you is excuses and opinions. You’re entitled to both, but people don’t have to agree with you.

Instead what I see is a lot of people saying ‘There are several factors to why there is a buyer slowdown in the Summer.’

So I ask you, what are you doing to market your gigs? How do you plan to bring in buyers? Do you sit and hope someone will find your gig in search, or are you actively promoting? Take a chance to capitalize on the fee increase: ever since it went up, my buyers have been more willing to spend higher amounts to get more work done at once–those who are regulars on Fiverr and those who I have brought from off platform.

It would be one thing to complain constructively, but that’s not what’s going on here.

You can have excuses or success. Which one will you choose?

With all due respect, but this is laughable at best. If you want to go to the much better platforms, just do it. Why bother even bringing this up?

Kudos Josh! :ok_hand:t4:

The answers should be very interesting.

I totally agree with you, Mario! 😂

After reading the email to send to the CEO, I literally just  the write up is bad.

I would never waste my time sending this junk to people.

The email is not convincing at all. It comes across as a temper tantrum.

Increasing fee doesn’t make any sense.

It’s chicken$hit and totally irrelevant. Last week I raised my prices because I got tired of the the dollar that had a firm loss in value and yet one of my returning customers didn’t care. Nor about the raised price, nor about the raised fee. If you have the right buyers you got no problems. That is just how it is.
