Another point here, you can write a gig description and FAQs to specifically answer those interview questions - If you’ve thought about this upfront and included it in your gig, a buyer is likely to spot that and may save you the trouble of a quick consultation.

Case in point, most of my orders are typically $250+, but I answer a lot of questions in gig descriptions and FAQs - only about one in ten buyers wants to ask me lots of questions or something approaching a consultation.

I totally disagree with interview questions unless your project is controversial or you have very specific demands. Most people don’t, so interview questions are annoying.

I don’t know about others, but I’m here to get orders, not to chat with strangers. I’m nice to anyone that messages me because I don’t want account warnings, but that doesn’t mean I like it.

God bless you! I love your response. straight to the point!

The danger with clients who ask questions is that if you don’t respond fast enough, they end up hiring someone else.

I hate writing long responses when I’m away from my computer. Sometimes I’m watching TV, in bed reading, etc. I find myself speaking to my iPhone and correcting all the mistakes Siri makes.

Yes we know and now the buyers who find these tips useful know it too.

If anyone should ask these questions from you then you’re free to say that you’re not the right seller for them.

Thanks for your input though.

So it bothers you if a potential customer contacts you about what they’re actually buying. I’m glad you don’t sell medical equipment.

@pamelakovalski I think you may have replied to the wrong person?

It wasn’t @uxreview who said they didn’t want to chat. ☀️
