Hi everyone,
today, I have received spam message from a buyer. what should I do now?
If Fiverr detects a buyer’s message as a spam, will there be any problem with contacting that buyer?? 😕

Please help…

Thanks 🙂

This most likely happened because the buyer used the same copy pasted message and sent it to several sellers he/she is interested in working with. I haven’t really had any problems contacting the buyer about it – I noticed such messages don’t appear in mobile but it does appear on desktop.

But if it was another kind of spam then I don’t think it’s something to worry about – it saved you the time from dealing with a shady buyer.

Thanks for help…

@farazsiyal Just so you know, if you don’t answer at all, your response rate may drop and may affect your gig placement. If the message is indeed spam, a good idea would be to unspam it, answer with an emoticon or similar (and then you can mark it as spam again) to keep your response rate. Hope this helps

@farazsiyal It affects your response rate after 24hrs have passed and you get a drop in % if you didn’t reply, speaking from experience. I got a number of them a while back. 🙂

Maybe they managed to fix that, who knows? I would respond just to be sure

@maedan yes I know that, but if you delete message then It will not affect your response rate. I had got first spam message on Thursday which I had delete from inbox. you can see my response rate, It is 100%. 🙂

@farazsiyal That is great news, they fixed that. I didn’t get a spam message for quite a while now. I don’t believe people can see your response %, only response rate in Hrs

@maedan Yes, people can see response rate in hrs, if your response rate is less than 100% (ex: 99% or 94%) then your response hrs will be show 2hrs…
