I don’t think it shows the exact requirements but it says for users with that badge “Thanks for participating over a period of weeks”. So participating on the forum over a number of weeks should get the badge and the increase in trust level.

You can get to level 1 by:

• visiting at least 5 topics
• reading at least 30 posts
• spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts
