A Blast from the Past: What's your fave Childhood Toy 🚀 or 🎮 Game?

My dad got me this and I LOVED it.

I remember dropping it on my toes a few times and boy did it hurt.

That thing was quite heavy!

Also being a Japanese kid, my mother bought me an origami book.

The book was small, like a post card size, but it was as thick as a dictionary.

I was doing a lot of origami in my free time.

I was quite proud of myself when I made the ornament ball using 30 pieces!

Of course, I went on YT to learn more about the gyroscope.

I don’t recall playing with dolls much (namely Barbie) but did play with my sisters cabbage patch toy of whom is in his 20s now - he’s in hiding. Die cast cars with another favorite and for some reason I just fell in love with this thin car which was later discovered to be a Lamborghini and go to car for my later obsession Need for Speed.

Speaking of NFS it was one of my favorite PC games next to Solitaire and Freecell. For the Super NES it was Pac Man Adventure, Super Mario World 3, Yoshi’s Island, Killer Instinct, MK and TMNT 4 Turtles in Time. For N64 it was Mario Kart and KI Gold.

Later came PSone of which I enjoyed Digimon World 3, Digimon Rumble Arena, Tekken Series, Legend of Dragoon, Twisted Metal 3, Game Demos from the PSU, Bushido Blade, Crash Bash, Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, MTV Music Generator, Soul Blade (part of Project Soul), Gran Turismo 2 and Ore-no Ryouri.

Afterwards was PS2 where I mainly played the classics from PSone, my Holiday 2005 demo disc, Jak X Combat Racing, Tekken Tag, Tekken 5, Soul Calibur 3, MKA and some installment from the Onimusha franchise. Oh and NFS Hot Pursuit series for both PSone and PS2.

No visits to arcade except for field trips and trips to the laundry. Even when I did go I mainly played Pole Position, Final Fight and whatever was available.

Hmm, good question.

It has been years since I’ve touched a cube. The next time I go on my shopping run, I’ll take a look to see if it’s solved or not. 😄
