When we enter a restaurant, what do we first do physically ?
We first look out for a table and chair and after that the rest, right ?
Imagine if there are no tables or chairs ? Or the tables and chairs are hidden, you need to search and find them ?
Imagine a Lead Generation campaign’s landing page with the visible aspects of it’s “call to action” are absent or hidden in some corners at the bottom ?

Well, it would spoil my day - that’s for sure! 🙂

I’ll move this to ‘conversations’ as it may be a better place for it.

Okay, I imagined all that. And now?

Thank you for imagining the restaurant scenario.

“And now?” … Thank you …

Would you eat at that restaurant ? And if you do, then would you go there again ? Would you recommend it to other ?

You may, that is fine. But, since you asked “And now?”, I’d like your opinion (without us diverting away or being offensive). It is after all about Landing Pages for Lead Generation Campaigns.

I am not sure what the “it” means. You mean a restaurant with tables and chairs hidden in some corners somewhere, would spoil your day ?

Thank you. That is exactly how important to have a clearly visible “call to action” on the landing page of a lead generation campaign.

I thought the point you were after wasn’t the restaurant but the landing page. So I imagined a landing page you described.

I thought this was some forum game.

There was no call to action beyond the “Imagine”, so I asked, and you replied.

If I got to the landing page because for some reason I was interested in what it offers/might offer, I’d use my grey matter to scroll to the far far away outskirts of the page where the info I need is located or to find out what I want to know or how to get the stuff.

If I wasn’t interested enough to find out, I’d leave the page.

(If you consider my taking part in your thread offensive that’s your perception and okay, of course, I can stick to reading.)

Reminder it is a landing page for a Lead Generation campaign. And studies show that for a Lead Generation campaign, a page visitor will not hunt for contact methods. If it is clearly visible, they love it and make that move, but if it is not clearly visible, then they just leave the page.

But well known studies have proved that the landing page of a LEAD GENERATION campaign, the “call to action” motivation must be visible very clearly without the visitor having to scroll or hunt.

Well for sales campaigns and others the “call to action” strategies may be different.

How did I get to that page?

Which page ? Which page do you want to get to ?

The page you asked to imagine. It matters how I got there.

If we take your restaurant intro example, if I had been really looking for that specific restaurant, my reaction would be different than if I just happened by a place looking like a restaurant but not having tables and chairs on peeking inside.

I presumably suggested that no one gets offensive. Nowhere I have said that I am offended. Why should a discussion about landing page for a lead generation campaign offend me. Infact it delights me.

So, yes, no offenses, it is after all, just about landing pages for lead generation campaigns and we stick to that.

I am. 🙂 But how/why did I land on my imagined landing page?

To summarize - the call to action on a landing page must be clear.

The end.

When can we expect your landing page gig? 😉

How did I get to that page?

How did I get to that page?

The page you asked to imagine.

You get there as follows

  1. You have just 1 laptop and you downloaded something like a wallpaper and right after that you see popups on your screen, you try to browse the internet, but the browser hangs often, you see strange ads on all web pages, etc.
  2. You then realize that your laptop has been infected with virus and it makes it literally impossible to effectively use your laptop.
  3. But, the laptop is vital. You need to deliver that gig or email, etc by tomorrow.
  4. But atleast you have a mobile smartphone and you open the browser in it and search for something like “laptop virus removal”
  5. You see on the results at the top : “virus removal from laptop $39 flat with Free Anti-Virus”
  6. You feel that is a great deal, because you remember when your friend’s laptop had a virus, he / she paid $99 for virus removal and $49 for an Anti-Virus.
  7. So, you click on that and you land on a webpage

NOW YOUR QUESTION IS ANSWERED. But, I’ll elaborate a bit more.

  8. But all you can see on that webpage is photos of laptops and about the service and the price and the company and some reviews, etc.
  9. You feel like, fine, but it is just $39 with Free Anti-Virus, I will end up saving like $100, I need to contact this company, how do I do that ? I cannot see their phone number, I cannot see a contact form, etc.
  10. Then most probably, you would just close that page and search again.
  11. Or you would still remain motivated enough to try to contact that company, so you hunt the webpage and finally after a lot of hunting, you see a phone number in another of their webpage (within the same domain), in a tiny small area at the bottom of that page.
  12. You may end up contacting that company (rare scenario as per top studies and research), but the experience from the start would not have been a smooth one.

But how/why did I land on my imagined landing page?

I have given you an example of why and how you landed on the imagined or even a real LEAD GENERATION landing page.

I will be glad to provide you more examples, if it is not clear.

We are all here to exchange information and sometimes offer clarification in something in which we are knowledgeable in.

I myself get a lot clarified in such forums.

Lead Generation campaigns are mostly for services, sometimes for products too.

Have you ever searched on the internet for any service ? For example a plumber, electrician, etc ?

If yes, please let me know which service and I’ll give you a few more examples using those services.

No, not really! I book reservations in advance, so I’d be expecting a table+chairs upon my (party) arrival.

I can’t!

Again, the places I dine at always treat me awesomely… My table & chair are always ready! Besides, I don’t have time to go searching around for available seats. Afterall, there are other restaurant options that would love my business.

Simple! I’d be like roadrunner [exit] the page pronto.

Now answer this question are you creating a Landing Page for Lead Generation Campaigns Gig?

Guest logoeasy

Could you really call it a lead generation campaign if there is no way of getting leads?

Bingo, thank you. You said it so well.

Exactly. Now we are getting to know what I intended to portray : The importance of a clearly and easily visible “call to action” strategy on the landing page of a LEAD GENERATION campaign.

Thank you, once again.

So let’s say that someone wants to create a topic as a means to generate leads and interest in a new gig.
How should they go about it?
First, they should use clear examples and analogies that can be understood immediately.
Next, they should declare their intentions in a concise way which leads the reader to a point where they see the need for the service which will be offered.
Finally, the OP should post the topic in the My Fiverr Gigs section which is the correct place for self promotion pieces.

Great ! That is what happens when the landing page of a LEAD GENERATION campaign does not have easily and clearly visible aspects of the strategies of it’s "call to action"

My objective of my post is achieved.

aaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha.

For clarification purposes, this is me laughing at the irony of this windbag of a thread.

To specify, I’m poking fun by, then, clarifying.

Just to be clear, I find it amusing and in no way “metaphorically” funny or using an analogy.

What I’m saying is - that was funny.

Okay… sure that example was clear. It just was nothing at all like the restaurant example, I see… hmm…

I fear that according to your studies, I´m not a page visitor then. If I visit a page in the first place, I´m determined enough and my attention span is long enough too to ‘hunt’ for the contact info.

Who conducted those studies, BTW, that´s an important point one should mention as well.

But yeah, back to my virus, I´m a bit of a bad player here because I wouldn´t look for a company but for DIY, but for the sake of the game I’ll keep imagining…

I´d search, in the first round for local companies with phone numbers,
so I’d have a chance of getting a yes/no within short time,
pick some of the search results that look promising to me,
keep open the pages and try to contact them until I´d found one who´d take care of it.
If nothing came of round 1, another round and so on until I´d have a solution
or until I´d have to contact the customer anyway and ask them to extend the delivery time, which I´ve never done before and would hate to do, but well, that´s life, I guess. (Once I got more time on my hands again, either rinse and repeat, or go another route, depending, like, for now, just doing the work again on a clean computer if faster/re-install the OS/use my cloud backups from another computer etc.)

If the thread is just about getting confirmation for the studies you mention, though, that´s simple, of course. The kind of page visitors those studies point out, probably just leave the page if the contact methods aren´t clearly visible, if the studies say so.
Personally, I´d not leave a page just because I might have to scroll or click to the ‘Contact’ tab, if I liked the page for other reasons, for example because it´s by a local company in the same timezone with a phone number etc. but if the studies are that certain that “a page visitor will not hunt for contact methods”, I suppose I´m not representative. Obviously, I won´t mind if the contact info is clearly visible and right on the landing page, though. 🙂
