Is there a way to delete old notifications?

I see we can delete old messages but notifications? I have notifications a week old that are completely irrelevant to present time, is there a way to delete them?
I like to keep my inbox clean after the communication is over with someone so I easily see anything new, would love to do the same with the notifications.
