That said, it’s inspiring that markets are upbeat inspite of much negativity garnered through demonetization and checkered GST rollout.

Negative people will always be negative. I mean, I could go negative as well, cry about being unemployed, blame PM Modi for it and ask “where are the jobs”? But I choose to work hard, create my own job and find a way to make money. From being jobless, I am now in the top tax bracket (to be fair except my mom and my CA everyone I know still thinks I am jobless…LOL). It’s about your attitude towards life and how much pride you have in yourself. People with self-esteem don’t get depressed, don’t blame others, don’t cry about their circumstances, they do something about it. [i am telling you this because I sense that you have the same attitude towards life as I do.]

Absolutely.

One of the hard lessons I learn in life is not only be wary of negative people but even seemingly normal people. I was always surrounded by well wishers and relatives and I thought there expecting nothing but best for me. They were always advising and encouraging. You know the things that go in South Indian families… do Engineering in IIT, yadda yadda.

But when I moved to Bombay in about 2004, it was an complete revelation! I was fortunate to meet some of the finest people here - like Parsis. There was no advising and encouraging business going with them! First I thought they were cold and unhelpful… but soon realized: They were in reality quite happy, content and confident people… and accepted others as they are! They do help when asked but just don’t find a need to ‘advise’ others for some exalted sense of self-importance because they already knew they are important. Believe me, this was one of the turning points where I began to re-appraise my relations.

Today, I’m more like: The people who freely give advises are usually not the perfect people to take advises from. This take cares of most of my so-called ‘well wishers’.

Haha, that is so true. Some of my relatives who used to act so concerned with me and offer advice all the time when I was in my hard times, now don’t even want to talk to me, and avoid me as much as possible. They find it unbearable that an obvious dumb loser they tried to help not only did not take their advice, but now is better off than them and their oh-so- brilliant kids…your experience mirrors mine in many respects. [i have realized that life is a battle, you have to keep fighting, and you are all alone in it. Don’t expect any help from anyone. Just ask God for the courage to deal with adversity and the strength to fight hard and to maintain your focus.]

Yeah, I too have that kind of relatives. Whenever we meet, I give them a wry smile - saying without saying - “Party toh abhi shuru hui hai” 😂

I will just give you one example. So I have this aunt. She asked me so you were busy the other day when we met with some order. Did that pass? I said, yeah, I made $320 from it.

Silence. Oh, you mean 320 rupees.

No, aunty, $320, that’s like 20,000 Rupees.

Oh, you mean 320 Rupees.

I gave up and changed the topic.

Nice! Ultimately, contentment & relaxed no-boss lifestyle is real deal we get on Fiverr. Silent victories and envious relatives are the sweet bonuses.

I’ll stop here. We can’t make Fiverr forum our own coffee shop. 🙂

Generally October is not a traditionally high sales Month,
for me, sales followed that same harvest tradition.

I did better elsewhere but I only sold one gig here on Fiverr.

It was the the premium tiered version of my gig which helps
Even still, I am thankful, but more sales is definitely the goal.

November is presumably going to be better for product sales.
Obviously not Fiverr’s thing but my affiliate sites and dropships
should do good for me.

Only time will tell.
Best of luck to you and your November @writer99025

October was one of my worst sales months ever. I only made $600 😕 Definitely not going to cover my students loans this month. But I had my best month ever in September, so Sept was a really good month. October was bad because I ended up doing a lot of revisions and I got less orders done. I’m hoping November’s sales will be closer to September.

I have had 4 months (March, June, September, October) that were each within a few dollars of each other, sort of tying for best months of the year. November is shaping up very well.

I just started in October, I made 5 orders, it was very exhilarating! However, I have already spent what I’ve earned on marketing/SEO.

I figure the first several months I will have a net-net budget because I know how important marketing is when starting something new.

My goal for November is to double sales, so 10 orders instead of 5!
