Routine End of the Month Question - So How Was Your October?

I am pleased to say that after a below average September, I have had an amazing October. It’s actually my best month ever as a freelancer. I think the reason for that is that a $400 order done at the end of September cleared at the beginning of October, so that pushed up the average.

Also, if some of you remember, in my September predictions made at the start of the month I predicted that the Indian stock market would go down by 3% by the end of September because of various reasons. I was proved right. Now amazingly, in October, the market has more than recovered all lost ground and hit a new high - SENSEX over 33,000 and Nifty over 10,300. [CC: @ghemachandar1 bhai]

So October has been a great month as a freelancer and as an investor. 👍

hi, did u noticed some changes in fiverr search again?? i mean lot of new gigs in first page & high rated gigs moved to page# 3 or 4 ???

That has always been the case in the Articles and Blog Posts section, nothing new for me.

It started out a bit slow, but it started to pick up after a while.
I think October will be average/normal.
(…I think I said the same thing last month???)

I’m not complaining of course, average is more than good enough.
At least I’m not saying “October was my worst month!” 😃

Very Slow. It’s back as it was two years ago income wise, not what it’s been most other months this year. Not even close.

Number of orders is down, and amount they pay for gigs is at the lowest possible.

October was a total disaster for me! Statics were down & orders as well. I only got 3 orders. The first two were worth $10 and were pretty simple. The third order was actually the one which saved the month!
It was a good month after all, It’s just wasn’t for freelancing. looking forward to work hard next month so I can retrieve the loss.

P.S: I really love your “End of the Month Question” Posts. 🙂

@writer99025, it’s been ‘okayish’ for me. But the good thing is - my prolonged August vacation took a toll on Gig rankings and has now fully recovered. So I’m expecting good things to come.

Oh! wow… I’m n’t too concerned about indices these days. I’m full on India story and here for the long run. Yet, always good to know market sentiment is positive and upbeat!

Same here! Let’s hope it’s the same in November too. 🙂

Great move, if you watch the stock market closely or listen to experts, you will end up losing your mind and losing everything. Indians are natural pessimists. When the markets fell in September to 30k, everyone said that that’s it, we are going back to 22k on the SENSEX and the India story was over as the FIIs were selling. Now it’s over 33k, pessimists are saying that the stock market does not reflect the economy. If you are smart - which you are - you will cut out the noise and focus on building wealth, gradually and methodically. Our people are by nature short-sighted, fearful and easily scared. We are great worriers, always worrying about tomorrow, or lamenting what could have been, and while ignoring the opportunities of the present.

By the way remember to link your mutual funds to Aadhar before Dec 31st. Here’s how…

I went off on an almost 1-month compulsory service back in August. In that time I couldn’t take any orders and I had to cancel some orders from what had been my best month ever - the month of July (in this month I was set to triple my highest ever monthly earnings). It has been rather very slow since my return but each month has been better than the last.

How is October? Great! I am close enough to my standard monthly earnings, have worked fewer hours than I normally do to achieve this, and my gigs are finally looking up again. September was terrible, October has been pretty standard, hopefully, November takes me closer to the July I missed out on.

October has been great for me too. It is possibly the best month on Fiverr this year. Had some bulk orders from September also clear this month and I finally got the gig requirements for another bulk order I received 3 months ago.

But my gig stats are going down as the month draws to an end.

There isn’t any difference between September and October. Special remainder for new sellers- Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20. Keep working to archive your targets! 😃

Oh! Thanks for the link. I didn’t know one has to link Mutual funds too 🤨 But it’s good for safety even at the expense of privacy.

In the recent times govt. came to know so much about people financial trasactions - I’m afraid - if they want they can send IT notices to half the population. 😆

Yes, I simply don’t think micro-observing indices has much value. Let’s do things Warren Buffet Ishtyle! That said, it’s inspiring that markets are upbeat inspite of much negativity garnered through demonetization and checkered GST rollout.

Negative people will always be negative. I mean, I could go negative as well, cry about being unemployed, blame PM Modi for it and ask “where are the jobs”? But I choose to work hard, create my own job and find a way to make money. From being jobless, I am now in the top tax bracket (to be fair except my mom and my CA everyone I know still thinks I am jobless…LOL). It’s about your attitude towards life and how much pride you have in yourself. People with self-esteem don’t get depressed, don’t blame others, don’t cry about their circumstances, they do something about it. [i am telling you this because I sense that you have the same attitude towards life as I do.]
