Clown Tactics on Fiverr

This is why I have turned away $150 of work in the past day alone.

What I hate most are the clowns who try to manipulate you into working in a way which goes way beyond the scope of your pricing or is just unreasonable.

I had a buyer ask if I could send a sample. I don’t usually oblige with such requests but did and then started the ball rolling on what should have been an easy $10 order. The only problem was that the client wouldn’t tell me beforehand what the brief was going to be and even let it slip that they were expecting 2,000 words.

Finally, everything is ready for the order aside from a last minute. ‘oh and we also need you to sign this NDA.’ What is more, sellers should really read NDA’s because most aren’t non-disclosure agreements. Many like the one in question are employment contracts which basically say in very complicated ways that a company can fire you without paying you for any outstanding work and by signing, you agree not to say anything bad about the company or claim ownership any work 365 days post termination of your employment.

In short, we don’t have to pay you and you have to stay quiet about that fact.

Needless to say, this buyer got the middle finger.

Then you have the. ‘I want this’ people who want to buy something like a video but don’t want to order your gig as it is. They want to order a cheaper gig, buy a $5 extra to compensate you for a little bit extra work and also have you deliver in 24-hours FOC.

I hate clowns.
