Puts things in perspective

A cousin of mine, just a year and a half older than me, died of diabetes earlier today. He was a doctor and comes from a family of doctors. He is survived by a wife and 10-year old son. We used to play cricket together as kids, but I hadn’t spoken to him in over 20 years.

This just goes to show how unexpected life can be. Never take anything for granted. Nobody can tell what can happen tomorrow. Don’t ruin your “today” by beating yourself up about mundane things.

Oh my goodness! He was so young.

I am saddened to hear of your loss. You are right, tragedies like those help to put things into perspective. Thank you for sharing such a personal moment. I wish you and your family the very best during this time.

😧

Yeah, I regret not keeping in touch with him all these years. That really hurts me. I was lost in my own problems and cut off contact with the rest of my family.
