Do's and Don'ts on Fiverr

Hey Everyone,

I have been using Fiverr since the past one year, and as you might see I am a second level seller doing a pretty good job till now. Here are a few things I have learnt and would be happy in sharing with all of you in this community.

I am an arts graduate, with my mind and soul totally towards arts. I have been an avid artist and love to take up new challenges, explore new technologies to attain best results digitally and provide an art work as close as the buyer requirements. Over the period of time, I have been able to maintain a few things that I found were necessary and which I feel are absolutely necessary for every freelancer in this community or other.

  • The most important thing is to love your JOB. Art is my sole bread bearer and this is what fuels the rocket in me to achieve things. Whatever it is, happily take up challenges and give your 100% towards everything. Sometimes you earn, yet always you learn. I have taken up multiple projects just by understanding client requirements, have worked with them throughout the project and have finally delivered them what they actually wanted. Sometimes I have failed, yet every time I have learned something new which has helped me earn at a later stage.
  • Be polite to ask questions. Keep your attitude aside. - In a world full of talents, what sets you apart is the question. How you deal with people leaves a more embarked mark that what you do for them. Its should not be always about earning, but rather building a foundation to regular inflow of work. Ask what they need, how they need and when they need. Analyse it completely suiting to your work limits and be true to what you say. You say 5 days, deliver in 4. Let them know at every instance to where you stand in the project currently. Build trust and not clients. Helps in the longer run.
  • Some people can be annoying, some would be out-of-the world co-operative. How you deal with the annoying ones determine your personality. The good ones can deal with better ones than you. I come from India, and we believe in “Atithi Devo Bhava”, which states “The guest is equivalent to God” and that stands true for every client that comes in. If the client has approached me or for that sort you for any specific work, it simply means they have chosen you over others. Give everyone who comes your best, and satisfy to the utmost level possible.
  • Do not give how you like it to be, but rather give how they want/need it to be. Of course you are free to inputs, may be provide a few samples on how you see it to be put under your thought. Yet, try as much as possible to stick to what they want and how they want it.
  • Last but not the least, keep learning, keep improving and keep up the faith they show in you. Ultimately these would determine you, in reality, for being a top-seller or leading the life.
