Hello! My name is Savannah, and I’m new to the fiverr community. I offer proofreading services, but I don’t have any formal education in the field (I am currently pursuing a degree). Does anyone have any advice for getting those first few buyers before you’ve got the “history” to back you up? I’ve considered cutting the costs of my services, but I’ve heard mixed things about whether or not that’s a good idea. Also, does anyone know any good resources for proofreaders/editors? I’m always looking to learn more and improve my skills in any way I can, and I’m curious to see what you guys find useful 😊

Also, while being a “professional” with information/degrees to back it up is very important, I don’t know how many people actually look into that kind of stuff here on Fiverr. I mean, heck, I don’t have any credentials–not even a high school diploma(I’m 14, going to be a freshman)-- and I am still able to sell writing gigs here. IMHO, I don’t think that many people look at that sort of stuff when they’re ordering-- they mainly look for cheap and fast services!

Nonetheless, welcome to Fiverr! We’re super glad to have you!

As @thecreativeguys has said, be sure to send out a few buyer requests/quotes to sell your first orders and hopefully, once you sell a few through this feature, you’ll be able to get orders left and right! If you ever need anything, don’t be afraid to come ask the forum or search up what you’re having troubles with!

Best wishes and good luck in your Fiverr and collegiate endeavors!
