Unjustified 1 star review

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So here is the case

A buyer make the order and send a very bad low quality image with some requirements

I edit the image as best as I can even though I stated in my gig description that I do NOT accept low quality images!

Then she leaves 1 star review without asking a modification or saying anything

What do you guys leave when you think such actions were unjustified?

Can you contact customer support to review it?

I feel it is just unfair.

Dear Re:

You can open a ticket with Customer Support, doing everything you can to support your position, but the bottom line is that this 1-star review has not really hurt you in any way.

You can also support your position in your review of the Buyer.

In other words, when you had 813 5-star reviews (assuming no reviews lower than 5 stars), your total score was 813 * 5 = 4065.

Divide this by 813 and you get a score of 5.0.

Review number 814 was 1 star, making your total score 4066. Divide this by 814 and you get a score of 4.995085995. So this 1 star review lowered your rating by 0.004914005 points, which rounds up to 5 stars.

Now if you have other non 5 star reviews, your actual total score is lower, but with your bulwark of 813 great or mostly great reviews, each individual bad review from this point forward has a negligible effect on your overall rating. Just keep earning mostly 5 star reviews and you’re well on your way to Top Rated Seller, assuming you meet the non-specified criteria that there is no way for you to know what that is, but somehow community leadership may or may not be involved.

In theory, as a Level 2 Seller, you are supposed to have a Success Manager. If you’re still concerned about this situation, I suggest you reach out to your Success Manager and ask them for reassurance. If you don’t have a Success Manager (or whatever Fiverr calls it), reach out to Customer Support and ask them if you’re going to get one:

Thank you so much for this reply,

I am sure it won’t hurt my profile as I 99% I get 5 star reviews and people appreciate my work…

But I just felt it is very unfair from this particular customer…Like some people do not appreciate the efforts and work we do…

Dear Re:

Welcome to Planet Earth.

As President Jimmy Carter said when the ERA did not pass, “Life is unfair.”

Good luck,

Blaise
