A voice over artist will deliver 100 orders in 100 hours but an an animator will deliver 100 orders in 5 months or so. Is it justified to award Fiverr Levels on the basis of number of completed orders?

Although there are quality checks and other things but when you read description of the levels then number of completed orders is at first place. I just want to know your views if it is justified or not.

Since the average seller starts off with no reviews, then 10 by level one, they are really on a different playing field at that time. Most are essentially in the “proving ground” stage. Many average buyers won’t risk larger orders with a seller who has less than 50 reviews.

All of the original sellers who acquired the first level badges available had no easy way to charge higher prices, so they made methods that allowed them to gain those 40 remaining sales fast and at low cost.

Some may have offered temporary short work or gigs that demonstrated skill for $5. Some may have just worked lots of hours for each of those 40 sales. After the 2-4 months acquired 50 low cost sales they reached level 2.

At that point they could stay with high volume at low price or shift to high price and low volume. At level 2 the number of completed orders means much less than overall performance, customer service, unique gigs, total dollar amounts, etc.

Given that the two completed-order based levels can be done quickly, I think the justification issue is of little consequence. The new Pro-badged gigs can be set up with zero completed orders if the seller meets Fiverr’s standards for that. There is something for everyone.
