Should I share my blog account details with seller?

Recommended Posts

I am new to Fiverr and did not find answers to my queries in the forum or FAQ, hence posting here.

  1. I approached a seller in far-flung Morocco (I am from Mumbai, India) to create an interactive, responsive website for me for a domain i bought on GoDaddy. The seller wants me to add him to the admin on my domain or provide him all access to it so that he can work on my requirement. He assured me that this process is protected by Fiverr. Thinking of the worse case scenario, how do I safeguard my account details if I share it and it’s hijacked from me? How does Fiverr step in and help?

  2. How many interactions does it take between buyer and seller before the buyer feels satisfied in outsourcing his work to the seller? Are there no listed formats, according to categories? I have several queries on how my website should look and feel, including the landing page, layout, design, navigation menu or bars, UX and UI. So how do I get it clarified upfront? Should I be asking the seller all these questions before taking an informed decision? Will the seller be patient enough and feel obliged to answer all my queries before he / she gets the business from me?

I was looking for answers to all these queries on the forum and did not find them.

More after I hear on the queries posted above. Thanks

I think that there is a way on Godaddy to give him access to create the site but not give him access to your account. Godaddy has a phone number to call so you could ask them how that works.

I agree that in a case of someone designing a site for you, there should be guidelines spelled out so that buyers have some basic rules they can expect a seller to follow.

I certainly would never hire anyone to make a website for me if I could not have a lengthy discussion with them first and have a type of rough “contract” in place first saying exactly what you expect them to do, although of course a contract is not possible on fiverr, but even so, I would want it explicitly stated what they will do.

I too have questions about how the process works. I would want perfect English and communication abilities in someone making a site for me so it would be best to make sure that you are able to communicate well at least with the seller.

Please come back and let us know how it goes for you. As you said, there is no information anywhere on this important subject.
