I got a bad review without knowing why

Recommended Posts

Recently i received an offer , I did the voiceover as I always did and delivered on time ( even a day earlier) but the buyer gave me a bad (1 star) review when i asked if he could give me a review if he enjoyed my work with him. The thing i suspect is, at first he lowered my gig price from $10 for 100 words to $5 to 100 words,i accepted it, then he sent me a script of 193 words/ I kindly messaged him saying words over 100 may inquire additional cost (another 5$ in his case) he was first avoiding the question and said he would pay me in the next gig and then after discussion, i mentioned it would just ease any conflict later to protect both buyer and seller. he then offered my another gig of 97 words so he paid a total of $15.
I don’t know if this experience actually made an impact to him to give me a bad review. What do you guys think i should do ?

As well there are bad sellers, bad buyers do exist too.
It´s better not to ‘pray’ for a review than taking a bad one.
Personally I never ask for a review, some buyer may feel kinda forced to do it and get angry ( I know, it´s a bit kiddy but happens sometime )

I feel sorry about you. i also had a same story once. he ordered a gig and simply add 1 stars without saying any reason or ask to edit while i’m offering unlimited Revisions too. . i did over 1200 orders with 5 stars and that was the first one i got 1 star. then i look in to buyers account and realize he was a seller. he offer same service as mine. I think if fiverr can show buyers review or positive ratings, sellers can avoid many problems…

I’m sorry about this experience. but don’t worry same thing happen lot of times buyer ask additional work or send lot of work. actually as a sellers we don’t have a advantage fiverr support always in buyer side just ignore and keep it up after some good review you will be fine good luck

I’m sorry this happened to you!

I know from experience that a buyer who says something like this is going to be a problem.

Talk about being swindled.
I think our rite of passage would always have to be that one and only encounter with a buyer from hell.

I personally never ask for reviews… nor do ever even I bother to query the reason for a bad review ( which has recently manifested itself to me in the form of a 4 star rating ). Simply because I sincerely know that whatever I’ve put forward is always the best I’ve had to offer; and I think it’s pretty darn good if i do say so myself.

That being said, the only downside is the negative effects it has on our overall rating. The only solution ( for me at least ) Is to learn and grow from the experience then continue to deliver exceptional service in orders moving forward.

the truth is some Buyers are out there to destroy sellers reputation; the only thing is just to pray to use wisdom in handling them because you hardly know when you meet one.anyway just move on with it, having a one-star rating will not stop you, it will only make you more experienced in dealing with buyers.

The more professional looking profile you have the more your competitors hate you. Some big sellers are constantly looking for new sellers who have potential to make big and therefore a big their to their business. On the forum, almost everyone is nice and ready to help but you have to be very careful next time dealing with buyers on Fiverr. PS: Don’t lower your prices, it’s very unprofessional. Some people are looking to get extra things without paying much and these are the type of people you need to filter out, The moment you get a hint that buyer is not trustworthy, cancel the order.

I wish you best of luck for your future on Fiverr. 👍

Looks like he was your competitor trying to lower your rankings.

If you wish to continue with this account then give your seller a bad review as well and don’t forget to mention the bad behavior you had to face when delivering your order. This will help your future clients.

No, that’s not good advice I’m afraid.

Give a buyer a bad review and kiss goodbye to your account. Always behave in a professional manner, even if the buyer hasn’t. It wouldn’t help the OP’s future clients, because they wouldn’t have any.

You can reply to any review. So you could explain the situation there. I suggest you avoid this buyer in the future.

I just had a look at your gigs and listened to your recording. To bring it up one level you should use a pop filter.

Success!

Hi! Thank you for the suggestion, I may buy one in the future!! ( i do notice for some consonant it sounds a little loud)
