Cancelling Orders - From a Buyer's Perspective

I’m not a seller but I am a buyer. I purchase quite a bit of artwork. What I hate as a buyer is when a seller will cancel an order because they don’t want to incur missing the deadline for the order. Even when the artist is more than 50% of the way complete sometimes they will cancel the order right before its deadline. Come on folks this is NOT how you should be treating your customers. It’s not like we can’t be flexible and provide you more time but to just cancel for these reasons is bogus !! So far that’s happened twice now in the past 30 days for me.

Yes, that is not right. You should know there are other options available - the seller can request a timeline extension for the order. I don’t understand why they are doing this, they are driving good buyers away with such an attitude.

And in some cases they just need to admit the job is too difficult or they have too many orders right now to handle. I have had a few sellers say I am not sure, so I say ok let’s just start off with a $5 sketch and go from there. I am not here to be a jerk to anyone and I am not going to complain unless you really screw me over sort of situation. Just be honest and be real.
