Hi there fellas, I have this cooking video gig for almost 1 year now and it is really doing a great job and looks like a lot of people found it really a good category and started also creating a gig the same like mine.I have no issues with it and it actually fun to see their work of masterpiece too but my issue is there is this one seller who really copycat half of my description about 40 percent of it and I was wondering should I directly report her to the customer support or message her first? I surely believe she knows this is a violation here. Let me know your thoughts.

should I directly report her to the customer support or message her first?

I tried messaging my copycats first in the past, and I think only 2 or 3 actually listened… the rest would ignore me, and some even threatened me that they will report ME for stealing THEIR descriptions and images, which were still MINE though (mines were like years old, and they were new sellers with no years in the baggage!)

So lately I’m taking the CS route 🙂

Hi Woofy31,

Thats what I thought she might get angry or something but my gig is clearly older than her gig but I already reported anyway and did not message so at least fiverr knows then they might give her a warning or something. The only thing she cant copy is the quality of products I deliver.Buyers knows that 😄

They usually suspend the gig and request the seller to revise it, at least that’s what I’ve observed over time.

I will observe her gig now from time to time because it is just not fair what she is doing. The originality indeed is not there 😃

Don’t bother messaging her.

I know that might sound harsh, but I’ve messaged sellers before who have completely stolen my gigs, from the descriptions to the custom images. When I messaged them, they’d always say “Oh sorry, I’ll change it” and then report my message as spam or they would straight up ignore/deny my polite request.

Tell Customer Support. You have a great gig. If copy-cats get too out of hand, Fiverr will lose track of who had what first—hence why all of my images now have watermarks…

I do really like your gig by the way 😄

As @sydneymorgan said, Go straight to CS, Don’t message them and also don’t worry about copycats, they never succeed. PS I am First time seeing cooking video on Fiverr, really creative stuff. 👍
