How famous is fiverr?

Most of the time when I mention Fiverr people have heard of it. I went out to dinner with friends recently and everyone in the group had heard of fiverr (group of five people in their 20s). When I told my sister in law that I was selling on Fiverr, she even had a couple of friends who were sellers here. I found out about fiverr from the morning radio station that I listen to (TJ Show 103.3 Amp). They hired voiceover artists to prank TJ’s wife and then he talked about the site.

My last writing gig outside of Fiverr, I was writing content for a startup and at one of the meetings, the CEO was talking about hiring some VAs through Fiverr.

I was interviewed on a podcast recently (about one of my YA books) and I mentioned ghostwriting through Fiverr and the host had never heard of it, but that was the only time I’ve had to explain what Fiverr is.

@fixdesigner Fiverr.com is one of the better freelance websites. I tried so many and had the most success here on Fiverr. I believe it’s because of the diverse options to buyers and sellers. It starts at $5 and can go up based on what is being offered and quality. That is a pretty flexible system which is why it’s the leading freelance website. I would give it a shot 🙂

It seems to me that the popularity is on the decline, it is definitely an attractive market for voice over services and such. simply because fiverr fills the gap between logo designers, voice over artists, musicians and potential customers. but if someone wanted to manufacture something or hire a IT engineer they would simply call a company with that specialty.

How can you compare Fiverr to services that it doesn’t offer? Nothing is manufactured here, no IT engineers set up IT systems for companies here. This is a marketplace for digital services mainly and the market for those is growing as companies realize they can downsize their workforce and have individuals do certain jobs for a fixed fee without having to give them any benefits, workspace etc or accept any excuses.

If a freelancer does not do as they said then they don’t get paid and are not hired again. Try that with an employee who has been with you over a year and you end up forking over a 5 figure payout for the “mental anguish” the employee suffered because their manager said they had to do better or they would be fired. The gig economy is exploding in popularity with companies like Fiverr - AirB&B are the biggest threat to ever hit the hotel industry as the hosts have very little overhead, same with Uber and all the others.

On demand workers are the future and those who also have the so-called “soft skills” along with their professional skills will excel far beyond others.

If you go to Google, click news, search Fiverr, you’ll find articles from The New York Times, CNBC, Daily Herald, Jerusalem Post, Entrepreneur, Forbes, etc.

Fiverr has gotten a lot of publicity from pewdiepie, their doer advertising campaign, etc.

Either way, just be happy Fiverr has an awesome Alexa ranking. 450 global rank and 300 US rank is Amazing.

I’m a freelancer from Australia working on fiverr and I think fiverr is relatively unknown in Australia. There aren’t many fellow aussies and kiwis here - especially on the forum.

I’ve worked on many freelance platforms and fiverr is by far my favourite and despite the ups and downs, provides a large part of my freelance income. It is also my favourite freelance site to get work done as well. I’ve purchased almost 100 gigs from many different sellers for many different projects.

Around 80% of my buyers are from Australia, but that is due to my skill (voiceover) you could well find you have a much larger spread of locations.
