I have learnt a lot from my own experiences here on fiverr.

So one of the new things I learnt from experience is about USING BUYER REQUEST/SEND QUOTE and getting responses every time.

It just dawned on me about the past hour that I have been doing it all wrong myself.

I use the BR every day and I exhaust my allocated 10 … in 12 hours or less and I get responses from say 1-2 persons out of every 5 buyers I send quotes.

So, here’s the thing, because I have a gig which is in a category that receives much attention daily, I am exposed to see more requests that my gig doesn’t even offer but I could handle. That’s the First Problem.

My gig offers something else and because I have some other related skills to that gig, I hop in and bid for the job(s). Sometimes I get feedbacks, at other times, I don’t even get a response at all. Then I kept wondering until it dawned on me.

One possible solution I’m thinking of right this moment, is to create another gig and offer a service that generally covers all aspects of the category of my previous gig. Doing this gives me a better chance to respond to buyers’ requests using this generalized gig. It gives or would give me the chance to tell the buyer that I have the skills to get such job done rather than a gig that says one thing but does the other. I mean, how would I feel if my gig says something else and a buyer needs something else but somehow, s/he manages to order my gig and at the end of the day, the job shows up in my live portfolio.

On the one hand, I could be happy that I made a sale (if I’m the money type). On the flip side of things, it puts potential buyers away from your gig because your gig says one thing and then they see something different in your live portfolio. Well, I wouldn’t want to do such.

I would conclude by saying that It’d be in any sellers best interest to create a generalized gig so that they can be able to send more requests to buyers and get a better chance of receiving their feedback or responses.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO OTHERWISE?
