Um, super weird?

I got a message this morning from someone (who has no purchase history with me or gigs btw) and they took my cover image for my tshirt gig and sent me the vectorized artwork? I asked them why they are vectorizing my artwork and they said they were “confused and really sorry.”

Has anyone ever encountered something like this? I feel like I should report, but I’m also extremely confused by this whole occurrence lol. I asked them what exactly the confusion was and haven’t heard back.

Just when I feel like I’ve seen just about everything, haha.

That user probably wanted to get some sales from you, and thought it would be a good idea to grab your cover image and vectorize it to show off their skills hoping they’ll amaze you with the vector art and you’ll hire them. In which case, I don’t think reporting would do much…

It’s probably just a strategy from the “how to mek sells 101” unofficial off-the-records book 😃

P.S. but I would keep my 👀 on that user in case they get an idea to use your vectorized cover image for their own portfolio/cover.

Thank you! That actually makes a lot of sense lol. But lord that is an odd way to try and get someone’s attention. Also, it’s a completely weird concept to me, because the ability to vectorize a design is no reflection of your own design skills.

I wish people would stop going to these Fiverr “gurus” as it’s really annoying for the rest of us lol.
