Can't we get "tips"

I go to a restaurant, served and when leaving drop some dollars for the waiter for excellent waiting service

Or, I go have my hair cut and seeing the beautiful work of the barber on my hair, I give him extra dollars as tip.

In this two cases the tip is for the workers, not subjected to reporting to the business profit.

I was wondering, can’t we get “tips” from buyers who are extremely satisfied with our service which is not subject to the 20% you-know-who deducts?

No - we cant, all payments, tips etc. are subject to the 20% commission, otherwise it could be taken advantage of.

Did you forget that you are using someone else’s website? Or did you think it was yours?

If it’s your own site yes you can keep tips. If you are being allowed to use someone else’s site to get your tips then you have to do what they say and pay them for that service in the manner they say.

I know 20% will be deducted, am just saying they can modify the rules. The waiter who receives the tip may not be the owner of the restaurant. I have not received any tip before cause am a new seller, I was just thinking and wanted to hear my fellow sellers opinions

I try to look at eh 20% fee for all earnings as a business cost. In my type of business, having an agent that only takes 20% of earnings as a fee for marketing and logistics and payment disbursement seems quite fair. And in some countries as most people tip on a credit card, those tips are subject to taxation as well.

I try to look at it positively. If you’ve gotten a tip, consider it as a way to cover that 20% fee for the gig payment in the first place. It is the cost of doing business.

If you keep doing a great job you’ll keep getting those tips and you’ll develop loyalty from your customers and you’ll realize the full value of Fiverr’s services. It took me a while too, but I experience the value every day.

I wish you all much success and send regards from Cancun!

Andy
