I think the reason they’re featured is that chatbots is a new category - Fiverr mentioned it on their FB feed today, so I presume it’ll be to get some traffic to that new category?

Uhh, not really sure what a “chatbot” is, and I know it’s completely off topic here…but

#The shocking point :

You are right, it’s just because it’s a new category. But there are other gigs with 5 or more reviews and the sellers are level two. So why they choose a new seller with NOT a single review instead of the level two sellers who has 5 reviews on that Gig in the same category?

I think you need to give buyers the benefit of the doubt. Don’t assume that they’ll just randomly purchase from the first-listed gig, when they are more likely to do at least a little research to find a seller/gig that they trust. Buyers are likely to purchase from a gig that shows experience, over one that has no reviews.

Buyers have the ability to choose who they wish to work with. Trust that most of them will not purchase blindly, and are likely to give more attention to an experienced seller, over a inexperienced seller with no reviews. Every buyer is different. Don’t assume that they are all the same.

We haven’t discussed anything about “buyers”, anyway you are have written correct facts about.

The actual question is “Why fiverr give the featured Gig to those?”

#Hopefully :

The Gigs aren’t FEATURED anymore!

You will have to ask Fiverr. 😉

I assume Fiverr is now promoting other services, There are too many of Graphic Designers so the competition is very tough, I made few hundreds of sales luckily in past year while i have a friend who was invited by me here on fiverr to work as a designer he is really good designer but he received only 3 orders by now. That too after giving a good understandable and open description with affordable value.
Still its very unlikely to have a featured gig without making sales, Above guys are so lucky

It appears that Fiverr has been playing around with the Featured tag and that it’s being rotated on an almost (or actual) random basis right now. It’s weird and I don’t care for it, but I’m not shocked by it. They are doing a lot of things different lately so I expect different every day at the moment. I figure it will eventually settle out, but it might take a while.

I don’t think buyers will just buy featured gigs because of the red letters. Back when featured did mean a manual choice and those gigs were usually well-selling ones with backing, buyers probably did learn to look for them when search potential gigs to buy. Now that the featured tag seems semi-meaningless, I think that most buyers have already caught on and are just ignoring the featured ones unless they have something extra that makes them better.

For me it’s kind of like that Top Buyer badge that I see on buyers in my inbox. It seems to be based on nothing but how much they’ve spent, so it doesn’t mean much at all when I’m trying to evaluate a buyer who needs a more complex service. I just ignore it, mostly.
