For those who have tip gigs, how profitable are they?

As in what % of your customers give a tip and what % of those gives more than $5?

I get a very small amount of tips… but having it there is worth it, because they do come once in a while! I would never include it with orders though. I’d feel greedy and I feel like it would turn customers off. If they feel it’s appropriate to tip, they will find a way!

Do you ever get like $20 or $40 tips? I’m debating adding a gig for it, but i’m already close to my max of 20 so trying to figure out if it’s worth it.

Reply to @finalstep: Yeah one time someone sent a $50 tip who I never even worked for. It doesn’t hurt to have one!

To the other replies, yes I feel asking for a tip especially for the services I offer may come off wrong, but I do have 18 gigs so chances are even if someone wants to tip they probably won’t see it…

I personally don’t add a tip gig because I don’t want to have a gig that is not doing much over there and I don’t know how it would work. I had a customers who tipped me almost $15 because she liked my work from the live portfolio. I guess, if your work is good, they would do it generously

Some of my clients really want to tip me… and I try to make the tip Extra’s funny or personal… while I don’t get many tips, it does happen sometimes.

There was also one customer who was asking for revision many times and I did it for him even though it was his mistake as he failed to address all changes he needed in one message, so I had to do corrections again and again. he tipped me for that as well.
