askmrmark
I have met some really talented sellers here, but this one is bugging me. Bought the gig, seller was fast and efficient., it was great It was website related. I asked for a revision if he could. It may have been outside the gig, but he said no problem. The weekend came and I was not at the computer. Come Monday I see he left several notes asking for a reply then demanding a reply then saying I did not respond fast enough, he wants to cancel the gig.I check my website and it is trashed.I’m figuring he wants to cancel to avoid a negative comment. He had a 19% cancellation rate, but many orders and all good reviews. Now I know why there were no bad reviews.I sent him a reply that he fulfilled the original order, I completed the transaction and I moved on. Rebuilt my website and closed the sale. And left a negative review that states he did a great job and did what I asked the first time. He was great until I asked for a revision…He wants to fix the problem… I completed the transaction and want him to go away…
alliemadison12
Negative feedback has a bad impact on a seller. you should have accepted his refund.
faith1029
@alliemadison12 but if he freaked out and destroyed the user’s site then that is unprofessional and OTHER people buying from him should know “if they don’t respond quick enough this seller will trash your site”! That is important information to a buyer.
bitbyteworld
It is buyers responsibility to BACKUP their site and contents before giving login information for cpanel or wordpress login or anything. Its a global freelancing rule of precaution.I always ask my website clients to First BACKUP their contents or i generate a backup myself and deliver backup to buyer before starting work. debbie_ph
Reply to @bitbyteworld: Yes, I agree with you. I am also a Blogger Web Developer and i always make sure buyer is satisfied and happy with the outcome. But some buyers are just too much asking too much revision which is he/she aware that isnt covered the gig anymore…
jasveena
Getting response as fast as possible from buyer is also important. I faced this issue with some of my buyers too and sometimes it takes about 5 days before I could hear from them again. Sellers have a certain time frame to finish the job so if the buyer’s information is not sufficient, it would be difficult to complete the job. I think you could have just agreed to accept the refund and the cancellation ratio does not fully reflect upon the seller, it could also be mutual cancellation initiated by the buyers, but in the end still affecting the seller. The revision you asked for is outside the job but he agreed on it, meaning he is doing it out of will and I don’t see why you put him a negative review. Some sellers ask for another Fiverr for revision
faith1029
I’m a seller and I agree with the buyer. I’m sorry but there is NO EXCUSE: backup, no backup, response time or anything to TRASH someone’s site…LIFE happens who wants to spend time and energy reloading their site back up because of something so stupid as they responded within 24hrs to a request!!!It’s funny because, I see a lot of sellers being late on delivery because life happens but when a buyer takes forever to respond because life happened apparently that warrants extreme punishment and site destruction!?
