Sorry, you don't have access to that topic!

What does the message “Sorry, you don’t have access to that topic!” mean? (Other than not allowing me to access the topic.) I posted a reply in a discussion before, and I was notified today there was a reply to what I wrote, but when I clicked on the reply notification, I saw that message, and then the reply notification disappeared. What does this mean?

I think it means the thread has been removed but I’m not positive. I see at some point I was demoted to basic.

Miss Crystal is right, I saw that several times when clicking notifications I got because the forum system knew I participated in a thread, and the thread was gone then. It’s being pulled for moderation and sometimes it stays gone, sometimes it can be back if it was enough to ‘cut out’ the stuff that was against rules /etiquette.

Did you read that somewhere? I’ve been demoted from regular to member and now to basic.

I saw it here: Info about forum levels

It specifically says “Unlike other levels, you can lose level 3 status. If you dip below these requirements, whether from flagging or the passage of time, you will be dropped down to level 2, Member. However, to avoid constant promotion/demotion situations, there is a 2-week grace period immediately after gaining Trust Level 3 during which you will not be demoted.” Level 3 is defined as Regular.

Yes, what the others have said is correct.
When we remove a thread, most of the time it is put in a “Mod Vault” so we can analyse it if necessary. Few threads are actually completely deleted. This is to allow oversight from staff whenever necessary to ensure accountability for mods actions. These threads are then only visible to Mods and staff.
Sometimes a thread may be moved there temporarily, “cleaned up” and then put back; they can be put back open as normal, closed but viewable etc. We prefer to do this if possible as removing threads completely is confusing for users - sometimes it is just necessary though.

Why would you turn off a shiny little tag like that?

I don´t like it, I´d probably left it turned on if it had some funnier name displayed than ‘Regular’, like… ‘Comes here much too often’ or if you could choose yourself what it says, like some forum softwares have. 😉

Comes here much too often

I’ll take that! 😁

Or a shorter version: Comes here too often, Comes here often, or Gives way too much advice, or “Too Often” 😁😁:joy::joy:

Or, when one feels blue, switch it to ‘Gets too many inbox messages (seller special tag edition)/ spam offers (buyer tag edition) already, leave them alone!’ Alternatively some very short version of that, but you have to imagine that yourself, it´s not forum-suitable. 😉

I wonder does that really help? I mean is there anyone who will accept these out of blue offers?

Excellent question. I’ve never accepted them.

Even if it’s a great deal, if I don’t need it, well then it’s a really bad deal.

I’m not going to buy 2 for 1 custom cake, if I don’t need it. 😕

The “don’t have access to that topic” thing comes up with a thread has been moved/removed temporarily or permanently.

Level 3 is the only level that can be lost automatically, where the system drops the user to level 2 (member.) Technically a user can be manually demoted to level 1 or 0 if there is cause and it’s stated in the forum rules that it can happen due to excessive rule violations or abuse of a level feature. It’s not typical and I don’t see anyone currently in this thread whose been manually demoted to 1.
