christlik
Hi community…,Here is my concern;I have a PC which I want to start using for my account now. The PC was used to run another account before but since that account is no longer operated, I want to discontinue/close the account and use the same PC for my account.I am a bit uncertain as to what the rules say about this. If one account no longer exist, can another account be logged in on the PC/IP on which it was formerly operated?!I hope someone understand this and can give clarification probably from experienc.Regards,Joseph. miiila
I can’t see anything in the ToS or policies that would hint at anything happening, if you first close your account, make sure it’s closed (I presume you will get an email to that effect) and then open a new account. The thing they want to prevent is people opening a new account without closing the other since multiple accounts give way to fraud, don’t think they care at all if honest sellers use old or new PCs. 😉If you close your account yourself (not got suspended) , and open a new one, for example because you suddenly found the username you chose wasn’t a good idea, there’s really nothing they can have against it (especially as the don’t tell you you’ll be stuck with that name when you sign up ;)).If you stick to the rules and first close your old account (in good standing), and then open a new one, so never have 2 or more accounts at the same time, why would they care if you keep using your same PC and IP.But of course, if you want to be absolutely certain, CS is the way to go, not the forum.Oh, in case it’s not obvious what I mean with ‘in good standing’, I mean no open disputes, undelivered orders etc., if I wanted to close my account, I’d go on vacation mode, do and deliver all pending orders, wait until they are completed and all is okay, and only then close the account. misscrystal
People close old accounts and open new ones all the time on the same PC.As long as the old account is closed it is not against the rules to open a new one.
spark4hope
Does it matter? The PC or the IP used? What if you’re in a Hub, with dozen of freelancers using the same IP?What if you work with your family on the same account using the same IP or even different computers on the same account?Trust me, been there, done that.As long as you’re not trying to fraud Fiverr or give yourself orders, it’s good.
