New and looking for advice on my writing gig and its pricing

Hello. I am new and would like someone to take a look at the gig I am offering and let me know if its something people would be interested in at all. I would also like to know if the pricing for the extras and the standard and premium options are ok. The basic option is just the standard $5 so should be ok. Also, are the time frames for each package ok or is one week for an article too long even for a basic package? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

are you really from the USA?

Yes. I am from the US. I was born in Louisiana and currently live in Texas. Why? Is there something in my writing that makes me seem like I’m not? The articles will be 500 words for basic, 800 for standard, and 1,000 for premium. Honestly, I could probably write 500 words in a day, but I want to get the higher price for the premium, so that’s why its more words in less time.

Can you give me some advice on the description and what issues it contains, so I can improve them please? Thanks.

“anything else” is repeated in the description.

“on the topic of animals” sounds odd.

“about any topics related to” should be “any Topic”

And, such a short description is not sufficient to attract buyers. Go through high ranking sellers to see how they have made their descriptions appealing. But, don’t copy-paste their descriptions. Write your own one from scratch.

Thank you for the advice. I have changed my gig title and description to be less cumbersome. Does it seem ok now? I have also lowered the time frame of the project and increased the word count. Basic offers will now be completed in only 3 days, have 1,000 words, and cost $5. Standard and Premium are still the same prices as before, but now Standard will be completed in only 2 days and offers articles that are 1,500 words long, and Premium will be completed in 1 day and include 2,000 words.

Oops. I forgot to hit the reply button to reply directly to you, so I am reposting this as a reply to you.

The writing category is tough to break into, but there is room for those who can offer what buyers are looking for. Because of competition, your best bet at getting your first sales would be to go through Buyer Requests, ignore the silly people trying to sell there and look for buyers who want to buy articles. You’ll also have to weed through some buyers that are only looking for crazy things like 20 articles for $5. Even to get your first reviews, that’s not worth it.

You might have to work for almost no profit in the early stages, but you still want buyers that realize you are giving them a good deal. At first it will probably take you a lot of tries to get those first orders, but once you get 10 good reviews it will help you a lot.

I would suggest considering gigs in other niche or genre markets. One narrow focus is going to make it tougher to sell, especially when you are new.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just spent like twenty minutes trying to find where buyer requests were even listed and I couldn’t find them. Could you tell me how to get to them or send me a link to the page they are on? Thanks.

Sure thing. You’ll find a link in your header menu under Selling. 🙂
