Do Extensions Negatively Effect You?

I’ve seen a lot of mixed messages about Fiverr’s newly added Extension or Modification requests for an order. I’m in a conundrum, as this is the second time this has happened to me.

My first time with a client, they ordered the wrong Gig. So I cancelled it, mutually, but it still negatively impacted my Orders Completed percentage. Which has never happened before–I’m guessing this is some new change they’ve made.

Now, here I am with another client who needed a custom order, but ordered a multiple of a Gig instead, giving me 5 days to do a job that will take 11. I don’t want to cancel it, as I fear that will impact me negatively again.

But does asking for an extension or modifying an order impact us negatively too? Of course there are no answers in Fiverr’s help anywhere about this. Has anyone else experienced this yet and can shed some light on it?

I’d be greatly appreciative,
Best,

I don’t think hair extensions effect you badly, just style it properly.

Fiverr cheers quick delivery, but sometimes, there maybe project creep and you may have to request extensions and if you cannot avoid it, then it is ok.

Just adjust your Delivery date if you see that happen often.

The best way to justify a delivery extension is if you can slap some 💲 extras to it.

I have used the extension system once before and can’t say that it affected me. Late deliveries definitely affect you and it is said that cancellations affect you too. I think that the extension tool is likely to not hurt as it is a mutual decision to extend the time. I would like to think that if a seller is using extensions all the time that it would be noticed and acted upon but I doubt it is either.

Hello, Yes this is a new update of fiverr that whenever you cancel the order, it will count in the Order Completion percentage/ratio.

I don’t think, anything can happen now with the first case, you already cancelled.

But for the second case, you can ask the buyer for the extension of delivery time using ‘Resolve Now’ button at the top right corner of order page. This will neither effect your profile nor gig hopefully.

I hope, this helps.

Thanks,

I’ve been using extensions with one client of mine as she was too busy with her day job to provide the details for the project. We just agreed to extend delivery time 🙂 I see no adverse effects to my account… so far!

Excellent, I shall do that then. That is such a relief to hear. Thank you! =)
