Hi all, So i’m a seller at Fiver, and i recently bought some promotion service from someone and i saw after i accepted the delivery of the order, he has options to which he requests to leave tips ranging from 5$ to 15$ and so on. i’m wondering how can i activate that in my Gig as that would help me alot.

Thank you in advance

All gigs have that tip feature. If no-one’s leaving you tips then you didn’t exceed their expectations.

I totally agree with you, I didn’t even know this feature existed, but as you said it is best to leave to the client, most likely if you exceeded their expectations, they will leave a tip, and if they don’t they might have been satisfied but perhaps not too much woowed, either way it is up to the client.

I got few times tips which was unexpected.

You can request for tip if only the service offered, was more than what both of you has discuss.

They will gladly tip you for it.

Who will gladly do what? Are you certain about this?

Never request a tip. It’s a sure fire way to not only anger your buyers, but also to receive a bad review.

If you’re professional and produce high quality work, you’ll probably get tipped.

It is correct. I agreed with you.

Imagine working in an office and seeing the client face to face. Would you ask for a tip then? I’m sure not.

Don’t expect tips from all buyers. Fiverr is promoting getting jobs done for $5, so buyers sign in on the website expecting just that. An easy and affordable way to get the job done. Now, imagine their suprise when they see that not everything is just $5 as promoted. However, they pay for the services, including Fiverr fees. Keeping that in mind will make you understand why tips won’t come easy.

Tips depend on the buget of the buyer, on the mindset he has and the cultural background. There are countries or regions where not leaving a tip is an insult, while in others it is not something very common.

Focus on always providing the best service and tips will come unexpected sometimes. 🙂 Better to be surprised than disappointed.

It works same as in the restuarents when clients receive excellent services, they have the option to tip the service provider however they want or not to tip at all, I actually find most of those who tip and sometimes generously and unexpectedly are from North America, I guess it is part of their culture to tip as a token of showing an appreciation for excellent work received, it is a good quality that they are well known for by the entire world. So there is no formula for tips, it is totally up to the client and it is never appropriate to ask a client for tips, it is wrong and leads to loss of respect. I personally find it self-degrading. And if it comes from the client, it is a wonderful gesture of appreciation, one just should never aim for it or expect it, if it comes, excellent and if not, one got paid for work delivered, therefore, that alone should be a fully satisfying thing.
