As I said, I would scan the file first. Seeing a .exe and then immediatly assume he wants to break into your bank account, use your pc as a botnet, steal your nudes and use your vga for bitcoin mining is a bit paranoic, just ask him why Its a .exe and if he can send you a png or something. Telling him you are calling the police without asking for an explanation is not very professional. Maybe he is not sending you a virus, maybe he is just really dumb (there are a lot of dumb buyers).

It happened again!!! Someone send me a message and now he attached a "Project.doc"

Want to see the result from VirusTotal.com??? Take it!

NEVER OPEN A FILE FROM SENDSPACE.COM

As far as I can work out, this is always the document sharing website used (IDK why, maybe it has lax virus checks or something). On the two occasions I have had buyers send me a doc or whatever from there, I’ve requested that they link it on Fiverr and/or just quickly tell me what the project was. They insist on SS, I say “no, if you want to work with me, we’re doing it this way”, and then they piss off.

Make of that what ye will.

Emmaki beware! I know you are working with doc files. So, they send doc files full of trojans now.

Given that these guys operate thru the inbox, I simply don’t open doc files in my inbox. Any buyer who doesn’t understand my explanation or want to acquiesce by explaining to me what they’re after in the box… well. Probably not worth the hassle anyway.

I once got a project.doc. Buyer said something like “See attached file for bullets on this project. We look forward to working with you” I responded “If you could please paste the contents here that would be great. There have been some viruses going around attached to inbox messages so I just want to be safe” Never heard a peep back.

I would love not to open files, but probably 75% of the work I get is on files - scripts for voiceovers, so I have to open them or I can’t do the job. I will certainly be MUCH more careful in future and have beefed up my antivirus software since.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, I was given a link to visit their website and when I clicked the link, suddenly the Fiverr page pop out saying you must log in to continue, but the URL above was not fiverr.com

I got the same message few days ago.

I did the wrong. I have clicked project.exe file and nothing open.

What should I do now?

Please, suggest me immediately.

Hire a 💻 Computer repair guy or gal on Fiverr to help.

Do you have a virus scanner on your computer? If you do, run a complete scan of your computer with it.
